No fighter fights at the same pace in every round in every single fight. He altered his pace and approach in pretty much every fight as all boxers do, they react to specific situations.

With regards to LaStarza. LaStarza was winning the fight but ends up dropping the later rounds and getting brutally stopped. So clearly something happened in the middle rounds, and I don't think it was just Marciano doing the same thing over and over until LaStarza suddenly became vulnerable to it. That's a hell of a discredit...you did nothing! Your opponent just got worse over the course of the fight.

Well, Rocky loses round 6. He is still doing lots of feinting and loading up on single shots, and gets deducted a point.

The announcer: "Round 7, the turning point.....LaStarza has won his last round."

Marciano comes out with more visible urgency, moving his upper body more. He stops head hunting and starts following up on his misses, punching in combination and finally catching LaStarza. The biggest difference is he starts following the over hand right with left hooks to the body and head which he had not been doing enough of. He also appears to my eye to take weight off the right hand leads and snapping them more over the jab instead of the big wind ups that were coming up short earlier. In 8 and 9, we see Rocky mixing in more uppercuts on the inside.

The announcer: "Round 8...you can see the change in Marciano" That is unless you are Mcvey.

Byrd would be a very tough fight for Marciano especially because I don't see Marciano as being naturally much if at all bigger. But I think Marciano's way of punching everywhere on the body would eventually wear on Byrd and allow Marciano to take over probably get the KO.

Look at Byrd in round 8 in the Tua fight. He would be out in short time against Rocky.
    So would Tua.

glad to see this guy booted, this forum should toughen up on child accusations even if they are said in jest.

Not since Foxy have we seen such a weasel when it comes to bringing up kids in this forum for their amusement.

And we all know what happened to Foxy.

I don't. What happened to Foxy?

All I remember is that he spazzed out on me when I first started posting and then sort of quietened down. Strange fella.

They kept banning him for short periods of time only to have him come back madder and more filthier each time.

I don't know exactly why he was banned as the last days before he was booted he damn near broke every rule this forum tries to abide by in a series of posts that were deleted. Screaming at everyone. Claimed he had put some young American marine in hospital and eluded to doing it to another member (not me, lol) , he said he suckered the marine using a weapon and the guy ended up in hospital with tubes down his throat. Personally, I 'think' he was stinking drunk when he posted as it reminded me exactly of the old drunks at the bar talking to each other. So when he came back from that banning and got worse I figure they just got too sick of him and made it a perma, lol

personally, I miss that old coot, the guy used to send me hate PMs, I think I have over 80 of them if memory serves correct? I still reread them on occasion when I'm feeling down.

As far as Byrd and the Rock??????

well, the old timers wont like my take on this, I think Byrd would give Rocky a lot of trouble and could take a 12rd decision.

that's just me and for a lot of reasons I'm too lazy to type out, the extra weight,, how hard Byrd was to hit in what I consider his prime, the guy had some serious defensive skills.

Ike and Wlad tossed Byrd around with their size before they were able to land on him, I don't see Rocky having that same advantage.

but if Rocky knocked Byrd out late it wouldn't surprise me.
