With all the heart in the world, which Rocky had in abundance, he'd be really in trouble here imo. Ye Tua wasn't perfect by a long stretch but he could hit like hell and a great chin. And it's not as if Marciano fighting him like Lewis did . He's coming at Tua, trying to beat him in to pieces!
So Tua s getting his shots off on the smaller man. I'm certain that Rocky would land on him but I've a sneaky suspicion that Tua takes his best and his shots have more impact. So, in a fight that's short and violent, both go hammer and tongs, a brave Marciano comes off worse . We'd see him knocked down, hurt in a very short time and the ref would need to jump in at some point.
    Tua win s RS F 3.

At first, reading the initial post, seems like it would go exactly that way, but then I thought about something. Holy explained how he felt Tua threw punches (side to side) Tyson comes up the middle or an uppercut.

Looking at this clip, Tua is totally a puncher that lands to the right side or left side of the face, rarely if ever a str8 shot down the pipe.

Both are practically the same height that means Rocky is (inside) So a lunging Tua aint landed those BIG lefts and rights. He's forced to tighten/shorten his shots. Can he do it? Has he been successful against shorter fighters than Ike Ibeabuchi? Rocky isn't strong enough to stop him, but gotta question if David can land those hard haymakers. Maybe, this is a bad matchup for Tua.

You sad delusional Rocky Marciano fans. Rocky Marciano is slow and one dimensional but lets say he was faster than Tua. Tua still out weighs him by 40 pounds. Could Pernell Whitaker beat Marciano? He was 40 pounds lighter than Marciano but he was much more skilled. Or are you going to say Marciano is way too big for Whitaker. When is size important? When it benefits your point of 180 pound Marciano beating somebody much bigger than him?

Again little kid David Tua was 5'10 220. Rocky Marciano was 5'10 185. Why do you assume a 185 pound boxer could handle a 220 pound boxers power? Why would you assume a 185 pound boxer could hurt or phase a 220 pound boxer.

Yeah Tua lost every time he stepped up in competition against modern sized heavyweights. So clearly that would mean he would lost to somebody 35 plus pound slighter than him. Yeah you make a amazing point. What modern sized and modern skilled heavyweight did Marciano ever face? What modern sized and modern skilled heavyweight did Marciano even face? Wait he never faced any. Tua could of lost 20 times to modern sized heavyweights. I don't see how that has any relevance to him losing to a small slow cruiser weight.

Rocky isn't strong enough to stop him,
is what I wrote, nowhere do I state he can hurt him, rather I questioned how can a looping Tua land on a guy who is inside.

Right because we all knew Rocky Marciano didn't throw wild looping punches. In any case Tua is a heavyweight. Marciano would be a cruiserweight. Tua by brutal first round KO.

Is there a difference to you between a modern sized big guy and an ancient sized big guy?
Size is used quite a bit here, I take it you fancy size over skill calling Rocky slow and that makes Tua speedy Gonzalez? As you point out how you see no relevance--when @janitor said "Tua basically lost every time that he stepped up in competition."

I can dig his point, he is not looking at size, nor weight, you are.

Rocky threw looping shots alright, but as shown in the clips he also had a sneaky uppercut. Inside he throws very tight shots, whereas Tua's best win, well almost all his KOS he's looping.

Around 13 minutes into clip he is unable hurt, let alone catch Byrd who is in the eye of the storm. I can see Rocky's uppercut doing nice work, now if Tua catches him clean? Sure it can be good night but main thing for me is- this is a mythical thread it aint that serious.

I think this point is very important.
    .If we match Tua against a ;
A 37 years old Louis relying on his left hand to get him through .A guy fighting because he was in debt .
A shop worn 100fights Charles winner of 2 of his last 4 fights
    A 38/39 years old Walcott
    A Tubby 30lbs overweight Cokkell
    A punchless 188lbs Larstarza
    A 38/40 years old 1188lbs Moore
    What would be the results?
    I must give Tua a realistic shot here because;
    1.He had terrific power.
2.He had a cast iron chin.
3 He has a 35/40lbs weight advantage, so Rocky wont be bulling him around.
Janitor always without fail, says ," Tua never climbed to the top in his own era".

Which is quite true ,however,Tua's era had the following ranked in the top ten.
    V Klitschko
    W Klitschko
    Lewis
    Bowe
    Mercer
    Tyson
    Ibeabuchi
    Holyfield
    Witherspoon
    Foreman

Would Marciano rise to the top in such an era?

Why should I argue a match between Whitaker and Marciano when Whitaker never fought against a heavyweight while Marciano fought and beat heavyweights of all sizes?

Marciano and Tua are both heavyweights and Marciano knocked out all of his opponents that were over 200lbs. Also, Tua was one dimensional and slow compared to guys like Walcott and Charles, who were fast and very clever and Marciano was definitely much faster than Tua when Tua was coming in over 220+ lbs.

Tua was actually at his best around 210 lbs and was fast around that weight and was less predictable, but when he started making money he got lazy, which is why he regularly started coming in over 230 lbs and he always underperformed when it counted.

Marciano never beat an opponent over 200lbs who wasnt either a journeyman of an old facsimile of himself such as the 37 years old, one armed Louis. Marciano was never faster than Tua.
