I haven't seen enough of his fights to know which ones ended with which punches. As stated in my first post I don't think he can drop Tua, rather stating he can land the uppercut. Not finish Tua with an uppercut. Just like Byrd and any others who beat Tua it wasn't by stoppage, but points.
You can make a guess cant you? Instead of pleading the 5th everytime you get asked an awkward question!
Prime Tua lasted until the Ike fight, after that he sat on his ranking, could not find motivation/could not deal with his first loss, got fat and mailed it in against Lewis. Prime Tua was pretty basic, you stuck a jab in his face and some movement and he was easily tamed.........but he kept coming and coming and kept his power late and had excellent stamina...also pretty fast hands......Oleg/Izon/Wooden/Rahman all outboxed him until they got tired and got laid out except Wooden. Marciano had no jab to speak of, was not a moving circling boxer or a cutie......his MO was to over power you or wear you down ....the wear you down method worked great against old shop worn fighters with no legs left. All this plays right into Tuas hands.....he does not have to chase a guy around...he is right in front of him.....trading....Tua had one of the highest output ever recorded in a fight so work rate is not a problem.....Tua could go 12 without any problems........in essence the marciano worshippers envision that 185 pound Marciano would sit up close like Ike and trade bomb after bomb after bomb in all out action fight with no breather.......pure fantasy......this fight is over by the 3rd. The only fighter who stood toe to with Tua was a 235 pound border line crazy power house Ike.....no one ever else did.....and Lewis fought him long range to avoid any close encounters. One more time....insert Marciano instead of Ike .....not even a die hard Marciano fool would put one cent on the Italian here. case closed.
My guess is that he would get mixed results. Nothing in his real world record to suggest that he was all that!
Any bum with a pulse could get ranked in Tua's day! It was much easier to do that tomato can ticket, than it was in Marciano's day!
The likes of Lastarza, Sys, Dunlap and even Layne wouldn't even be known by the hardest core fans had they arrived in the 1990's. Here's the top 10 from 1997... Which one is a bum? Evander Holyfield Lennox Lewis Michael Moorer Ray Mercer Tim Witherspoon George Foreman Shannon Briggs Ike Ibeabuchi David Tua David Izon
I think that I am right in saying that Audley Harrison penetrated the rankings during the same period as Tua, and that was before any of his most significant wins!
