Lol because it doesn't happen in modern boxing. Which is why people like you have to bring up stuff that happened over 60 plus years ago. It is like saying because a guy is tall he is 100 percent guaranteed to make the NBA. The bigger guys like Jess Willard from the past were just that. Bigger. These guys had no skills. That is why they lost to smaller guys. But as I stated how many 5'10 185 pound heavyweight champions of the world have their been since the 1950's.? There has been exactly 0. Which would tell anybody who actually had a full adult brain that a 185 pound guy couldn't compete with modern sized heavyweights.

You want more lies that Marciano biased fanboys will tell you? They will tell you that Orlin Norris was a cruiser weight that moved up to heavyweight and has success. First off Orlin Norris had 10 times more skills than Marciano. I am not talking about who is more popular historically speaking. I am talking about actual talent. Marciano fought in a joke era controlled by the mafia and that is the only reason he won a title. Second Norris turned pro and weighed 199. So basically a few pounds lighter than heavyweight. 7 fights later he weighed 202 and stayed at least 200 plus pounds from 1986 to 1991 when he lost to Tony Tucker. Norris then dropped down to cruiser weight because I assume he felt he had a better chance at winning a title there. So Norris was a heavyweight who decided to go down to cruiser weight. Marciano was a cruiser weight who always fought at what would be considered cruiser weight today.

You want even more? Norris wasn't knocking out in any world class guys when he fought at heavyweight either. His KO percentage against bigger guys was pretty low. He had a much higher KO percentage when he dropped down to cruiser weight. Orlin Norris as I typed had skills. He didn't just stand there and throw wild punches trying to score a KO. Marciano had 0 skills as I stated as only won a "title" because the Mafia controlled boxing and he was a mob controlled fighter.

You want something else? It is amazing how Marciano fans first can't understand there are weight classes for a reason. The second is how they can't grasp how athleticism in sports has evolved. The skill and talent pool has evolve. It is like saying the George Mikan the basketball player could compete against modern players because he was good back in the 40's. Or saying because Mikan is in the Hall of Fame that means something today. He is in the Hall of Fame for what he did in his era. Compared to today's basketball players even high school players are better. The same with boxing. Just skill alone Marciano would be considered a poor amateur today. Then you add in size and I can't even picture Marciano beating the vast majority of middle weights. If Ted Lowry a 160-170 pound tomato can with a 70-68 record could beat Marciano then any half way decent middle weight today could.

Does it ever occur to you that it is harder for the 5’10” guys that are too big for lightheavyweight to make 185lb now that the training and diet has changed along with the equipment, distance and rules of boxing?

Seems they are still there, THEY JUST CHOSE TO WEIGH MORE.

Like the way any decent heavyweight destroyed Wlad because he lost to Ross Puritty.

There have been several 5”10 men. Gaining a few pounds isn’t skillful. Hasn’t been 185-190 because there is a cruiser weight division now.

    Precisely.

And the 5’10 guys have to weigh over 200lb to get out of the cruiserweight division. Nobody who can fight, who is too big to be a lightheavyweight, really wants to be a cruiserweight.

Michael Spinks bypassed cruiserweight for that reason.

Right more justification right? Why fight at cruiser weight if you could jump to heavyweight and make far more money. Also I typed 5'10 185 pound guys. Lol you sad Marciano fans will just pick what you want right? There has been no 5'10 185 pound heavyweight champions since Marciano days. I actually feel sorry for people like you.

You are still not getting it are you?

There have been several 5’10 heavyweights. They chose to weigh more.

    Otherwise they would be 185lb.

They seem to forget guys like James Tooney, Roy Jones also only 188 for his fight with Ruiz, Spinks, Holyfield, Byrd etc etc. it’s u
and FYI Roy Jones was 5”11 188 pounds for Ruiz ...sooo that kind of blows your theory. But most just do steroids now and gain a few pounds over cruiser. Not much skill involved. See you changed your profile again surprised no one noticed
