I remain unimpressed by Lebedev. He was unable to win clearly enough against Marco Huck, even if he arguably won. Huck is a very limited fighter, as is Lebedev. Afterwards he has gone on a senior tour against opponents who certainly did not age as well as Archie Moore or Jersey Joe Walcott. Right now he doesn't truly deserve to be compared to a Rocky Marciano.
Lebedev DOES NOT have the heart to beat Marciano. Any little fire he's got would go out when faced with someone like Rock. I'd bet the house against him!
Marciano would do bad things to a fighter like Lebedev. Denis would end up in the hospital with several injuries.
I would criticize the thread starter, but a long long time ago I predicted that Yoan Pablo Hernandez would stop Jack Dempsey in less than four rounds... Of course Wayne Braithwaite stopped Hernandez in less than three rounds a few hours later.
I don't know about lack of heart but I think he's got a faulty gear shift. That would be a very unfortunate thing to deal with in a fight with Marciano. Yes, I had a similar moment before old Holmes outclassed young Mercer.
great fight like both fighters but i would have to go with rocky. lebedev hasn't really impressed me by beating old out of prime fighters roy jones and james toney. He needs to rematch marco huck to show his one of the best in the world.
Not in my top 5, though that could very well change. Dude is just feasting on the corpses of the last generation. And I personally don't think that the fight with Huck was anything like the robbery some have made out, I had it a draw. Huck would be my choice for #1 right now.
I also had Huck-Lebedev a draw, and I can see an argument for Huck or Hernandez at number one, and I'd favor Hernandez myself.
Yeah, I have Huck #1 and Hernandez #2. I just prefer Huck's natural fighting to Hernandez's unkown quantities at the moment - I'm not sure Hernandez is a natural fighter. Plus his background is all ****ed up
It's a judgment call, and I can see strong arguments for both guys. I thought Cunningham was the consensus guy prior to the Hernandez bouts. On that note, I still feel a bit bad for Huck regarding the Povetkin cards.
