This would be a war. Not cliche 'war' I mean stop each other's hearts in the center of the ring. Looking at it...Holyfield beating Qawi over 15 rounds as a novice pro. That was amazing. He was special. Rocky had big power. He left a mark on whatever he hit. Heavy hands. Glancing blows moved his opponents. It was uncommon. His conditioning was what allowed him to win because he could carry that punch for 15 rounds. Holyfield was a slashing type of puncher and I think he breaks Marciano'd skin open. The Real Deal gets off the canvas digs deep and cuts Marciano. The break he needs. Career shortening type of fight.
Teriffic fight. That one would be a stunner. I think the Real Deal was the perfect fighting machine at that weight, not even Rocky winning it. Holyfield UD.
Holy was too easy to hit pre Bowe 2 in `92 and before Holy put on all that weight he didn`t punch as hard as Rocky, Walcott was better than Holy in the 80`s when he fought Rock and he was beat, a better comparison would be Charles who was built a little like Holy, I see the fight being a mixture of those two fights, Holy`s counter punches would be a problem like Charles were but Rocky`s workrate would be too much for Holy.
I don't know but to gage the heavyweight Holyfield is unfair since he clearly was on all kinds of PEDs .. we can say w a fair degree of certainty that Rocky was not ..
How is it unfair, the other guys in the same era we're obviously too. If I was a Holyfield opponent and I was clean I would tell it out at the top of my lungs that the guy is a cheater? Literally every press conference before a Holyfield Fight would have just been about steroids. Don't you think there would be an unbelievable uproar among Holyfields opponents if they had all been clean and evander was cheating? They would form a mob and crucify him. They would all sue him for damages But none of that happened. Nobody really cares. And everybody was in on it. Do you see Lewis getting upset? Moorer? Cooper? Even Foreman? Holmes? That should tell you all you need to know. Tyson made a bit of a fuss but come on mike you looked just as Mr. Olympia ready as evander did in the rematch.
It would be a great war between 2 ATGs, but Marciano's superior punching power sees him through it. Holyfield's superior boxing technique wins a few rounds early, but they start to brawl and Marciano wins KO in the championship rounds
Irrevelant because I’m gaging that Holyfield who was on them against Marciano who was not. Where do you draw the line in rating Evanders natural accomplishments. As far as everyone was on it you don’t know that and to what degree.
At 190 marciano was too much for a green evander, the people ussually make a mix between hw evander and his cruiser version to make a super sayan holyfield... Marciano at190 against 190 guys was monster.. I pick big good hws against marciano but against a guy with his same weight rocky always is the favorite except maybe for dempsey. Marciano was no qawi guys... Rocky would kill qawi
Two fighters who were both ready for war at a moments notice. I'm inclined to choose Marciano because of his experience and track record. Holyfield doesn't really have the skills to give Marciano a really close call. I mean, Charles and Marciano were the same size and Marciano destroyed him. Pretty much ended his career. I wouldn't want to see Holyfield in this fight if he was my fighter. Marciano would break him and turn him into little more than a journeyman.
