The guy who told Holyfield cut men were a con trick.

I don't know. Marciano had an uncanny ability to take punishment and keep coming forward throwing bombs until the last second of the last bell.

I always thought that Marciano would be tough for any opponent that couldn't get rid of him early. After watching the Chuvalo fight, that convinced me he'd have been a tough opponent for Ali as like Chuvalo, he could take Ali's shots and keep coming, except he'd be constantly throwing bonecrushing punches.

Marciano took quite a beating from Walcott who probably exceeded any version of Holyfield, maybe except the mid 90s version, in punching power.

I can't see the 187-190 lb Holyfield stopping Marciano in 4 rounds. I know it would be a fight to the finish, but a 184 lb Rocky vs a 190 pound Holy, I probably would lean towards Rocky. I'd pick Marciano over some 200+ pounders, but, those 200 pounders in question that I'd favor Rocky against, I also may favor cruiser Holyfield against too.

He's a boxing trainer, not an oracle.

And yet Lomachenko, the Klitschkos, and Kovalev had him on their team.

Naive to think we know better than them.

"And yet Evanders own trainer who saw Rocky said that Marciano was better."

Have you got a source for that? It's not that I disbelieve you, I'd just like to see it firsthand.

No, I didn't even know he had said that about Rocky and Holly that's why I framed my response as a question.
Its interesting that you accepted what Turner says because it suits you,yet when Emmanuel Steward, universally recognized as a greater trainer, stated that Marciano was too crude ,lacking in balance, and just plain too small to compete today you didn't!

Never rated him, and he was no trainer, George Benton did the training.Duva was a cheerleader and often more trouble than he was worth!

That's not true. Ive never not accepted what Stewart said. I just didn't exclusively use his statement to form an opinion.

If there is a direct comparison to be made, it seems like Turner was closer to the action, having had exposure to both Marciano and the Klitschkos.
