Had Marciano stuck around one more year, could 33 year old Marciano defeat 21 year old Patterson. I think that Patterson with his speed could outbox and even drop Marciano. The thing is though, that if Patterson drops Marciano, Marciano gets up. But if Marciano drops Patterson, the fight is over. Even if Patterson did get up, he'd likely be so out of it, he'd quickly be back down. I'd pick a prime Marciano to beat him, but I'm on the fence about whether a 56 Marciano had enough left?

Marciano from the Moore fight was imo the best version of him. Sure I know about all the back problems and everything but from a skill standpoint Marciano was very well rounded there and looked great outside of the knockdown.

He'd probably put a clinic on Patterson who, at this time, wasn't developed enough as a fighter like he was later in his career.

Marciano ko sooner rather than later.

Past prime Marciano vs pre-prime Patterson? Close to 50-50, but my money is on Marciano. I don't think a green Patterson is ready for only slightly past prime Marciano.
