I feel like we'd see echoes of Marciano-Walcott I here. I can see Patterson knocking the Rock down early and fighting smart and hard up until the late rounds, and he gets caught by Suzie Q right as his beautiful boxing starts to wind down. But then again, I could also see it being the sort of all out brawl with multiple knock downs like Patterson's rubber match with Ingo. This is a quite the hard fight to predict.
Easy night for the Rock. Patterson was swifter than Moore and hit plenty hard, but he just didn't the chinny chin chin.
Floyd might drop Marciano early as Rocky wasn't quick out of the blocks ,but by the 4/5th rd Marciano would be connecting with big shots and I don't think Patterson could take too many of them.
Unfortunately for Floyd, I really don't think he's going to be able to take 15 rounds of Marciano s punches. Rocky wins eventually but I bet his face would tell a different story!
agreed. The bout would ultimately show the effects of body punches. Sure do not see Floyd absorbing that too well. He could counter but it would be countering off a landed punch.
Agree. Patterson would be outboxing the Rock, perhaps scoring a knockdown. But Rocky's pressure would get to Floyd and he would eventually knock him out. Rocky was better than Johannson and likely hit harder.
First 3,4 rounds would be nice but in 5th round Rocky would KO Floyd with brutal one punch like he did Walcott.
I do not think it would be a KO in one win for the Rock, maybe KO 3 after 2 competitive rounds? Something similar to that would be my guess.
Rocky hit harder than Johannson with both hands, had better chin and had better skills. Rocky could score Ko earlier than Johannson in thier 1st fight.
