Patterson never weiged in at 200 near his prime, and sure as **** never weiged 200 anytime Rocky would have been available for a fight.

His best weight would have been 180-195, probably 190.

Marciano by brutal KO. Patterson had a very weak Chin.

BS. He was only stopped 5 times that is as often as Tyson but he was stopped by a huge puncher who was a bad stylistical match-up and an Top10-15 hw in Liston two times, against one of the hardest punchers in hw history against Johannson, avenged two times, and two TKOs against Ali when he was already past it. Yeah, he was knocked down often but so was Louis. Neither had a bad chin.

Having said that, I pick Marciano by mid-round KO. Patterson had more skill and much faster hands but Marciano´s relentless and never-stopping attack, every punch thrown with bad intentions and this unbelievable body-punches and pressure would take it´s toll on "the rabbit" - one of my favourite hws btw. I don´t think Patterson could handle that pressure.

  8. Why did Marciano retire then if he would’ve sparked FP?

There were signs he was slipping, plus he had management issues.

Liston was no one then...Patterson avoided the Rock "being too young"...yet fought old man Moore....
It should have been an intersting fight to round 8 or nine, with Patterson picking himself up off the canvas twice.....
I rooted for Moore because he was on TV more than the Rock, but knew Moore was too old and slow for Patterson.
Patterson was so very fast....but Rock was a Rock with barnicles...
Rock wins....and by KO there being no way Patterson could go 15 with him.... A leaping hook meets Susie Q.

Patterson gets the Rock in this one. Floyd Patterson was the fastest HW in history at that time. Very well trained and had a defense that could easily counter Rocky's hooks. I can see Floyd winning a 10-5 UD.
