Rocky Marciano vs Hasim Rahman

Rahman will implicate Rocky as a gay guy before Marciano does Hasim's sister, something that Lewis himself wasn't able to do.

 

The Brockton Blockbusted gets his clock dusted.

 

Both guys hit hard. Both guys had wins at the world level. Rahman’s chin always left me with doubts in a lot of fantasy matchups. Marciano’s chin and power saw him to a 49-0 record but how many big men did he fight and did they punch like Rahman or the fighters Rahman faced? Rocky of course proved he could go 15 rounds where Rahman never had the chance to show he could, but would this fight even go that long ? Too many question marks for me to pick a definitive winner. If forced to choose against my will I might narrowly favor Rocky on resume alone. That and seeing Rahman KO’d twice by Oleg Maskaev doesn’t exactly instill great confidence in him. But in truth this fight would be brutal and could potentially see either man being stopped.

 

I feel Rahman at is best is quite underrated. He has a considerable size advantage and I'm willing to believe that he hits harder than Marciano with his best punch. I can see him winning. On the other hand Rahman could blow hot and cold and Marciano was nearly always on the boil. Rahman's footwork wasn't the best and Marciano could suck up his space and make this a mauling fight that he'd be better suited to. If Rahman wins its probably early and by blowout. If it goes late I don't fancy Rahman's iffy stamina against a machine like Rocky.

 

This is probably the kind of modern heavyweight that Marciano would have prevailed against.
