Rocky wasnt excactly a boxing virtuoso himself. Of the two of them, i say Johansson was the more skilled boxer in a technicial sense. Rocky began boxing when he was already a man, whereas Johansson was an olympian. Why does everyone assume that Ingo was a brawler? He was a classic european style stand up fighter with good footwork.

Rocky would KO him though, no argument there. But Johansson was no unskilled brawler.

I gotta take Marciano but I think he'd be behind on points up to the point where he gets to Johansson and takes him out. I'd say the bout goes 6-9 rounds.

Did Johansson really have a Glass Jaw though? :huh

I would certainly go with Marciano but was getting KOed by him shameful? He had savage power.

I agree with a lot of what was said here, Ingo had decent skills, was evasive when he wanted to be and hit hard enough and was cute enough to drop Rocky. He was anything but a brawler. He did however lack stamina and that against Marciano...well a sure stoppage circa 8-10.

Ingo wakes Rocky up and then gets KTFO the first big connection by Rocky.

I too can't see a pvp Ingo beating Rock but your 'limited jab' is nonsense.
As were most talented Euro scrapers at the time, they had the jab and the big right without a left hook to speak of! Patterson said it was the Ingo jab that got him out of sync. A really good jab. And, although not of Rocky's talent, Ingo went 10+ rounds deep in several fights. For those who saw the Machen fight, his two fisted combo blow-down of Eddie was, quite simply, frightening! Lastly, that right hand of Ingo was, dare I say, an ATG sledgehammer. His main problem IMO was the problem with Cooney. A guy with supurb talent who really didn't want to fight for too many years. Rock by late stoppage or UD. Rock's competition wasn't heads above what Ingo faced. KO'd Cooper, Machen, and Floyd.
    This certainly is no "blowout".

Rocky destroys him. KO as soon as he hits him ...

Marciano was indeed going to come back only if he could fight Johannson.

Of course. Because Ingo became world champion by sheer accident. Everyone who ever punched him knocked him out. And every punch Marciano ever threw was the hardest punch in the history of the sport.

Hey he, I know you're the Rock 'nuthugger' on board here but your comment is nonsense...

I wonder if some on here ever saw Ingo fight! Technically he was sound moved around well and he had a good jab.
The right hand was a genuine weapon of destruction it certainly deserved it's reputation.
Rocky wins but this is certainly no quick blowout he would be shook up early on or even decked before prevailing.
