How does Toney fare against Marciano at the cruiserweight limit. Marciano would have been at the cruiserweight if he was fighting today, so I set there. In what will most likely be a highly entertaining FOTY candidate match-up (think Toney-Jirov), I have Marciano winning via UD or potential late stoppage, with Toney having his moments early, winning his fair share of rounds before Marciano starts to take over & grind him down.
Looks like the Moore fight but Toney doesn't get stopped or dropped as much. Marciano too big and relentless.
Marciano wins this. He was just to relentless and powerful not to mention durable. The only chance Toney has is if he cuts Marciano with one of those sharp right hand counters and the ref stops the fight.
I don't see Toney as having the power to bother Marciano. He might outslick him at points, but one of these guys trains his heart out and the other one trains on fizzy cooldrink and burgers. The later it gets it the fight, the worse it looks for Toney. I think Marciano outworks him and, if its over 15, stops him.
