Over 15 rounds I like Marciano by decision ... more punch output and Toney simply lacked enough power to stop him ... it would be a very competitive, tactical fight ...

i agree with you , and it is very possible a decision victory for toney in a 12 rounder, this fight would have been very competitive, toney was by far more durable than charles, walcott and moore

Not just that, we are assuming a 28 year old Toney and not the much older versions of Charles, Walcott, Louis and Moore Rocky fought ...

no, toney's counters wouldn't even phase rocky. Toney just wouldn't win, there would be too much pressure and power from toney do to anything. The heavyweight version of Toney isn't fast enough to win a decision, and he probably fades late due to his stamina

At what passed for heavyweight in Marciano's day, he beat a very good fighter in Jirov. At what passed for superheavy in Marciano's day he beat Holyfield, Ruiz and Rahman (drug testing aside) and hung tough with a very, very hard puncher in Sam Peter.

Marciano breaks his orbital, a couple ribs and pops blood vessels in Toney's forearms, etc. etc.

ROCKY WOULD MAKE A LOT OF DAMAGE IN THE BODY OF TONEY, but james was tough enough to last the distance and even outpoint him in a 12 rounder, toney took shots from bigger guys than rocky, holyfield, sam peter, john ruiz, even if rocky was a harder puncher, he was a 185 pounder, and these guys were much heavier and naturally bigger so i don“t think that rocky could hit MUCH harder, toney could survive to marciano, he was much tougher than walcott and charles and he was very elusive

Marciano was a cutie destroyer? Charles probably beat Marciano their first fight and was on the way to winning the second. Charles was also passes his prime and natural light heavyweight. Walcott was past his prime, couldn't take a punch and dominated Marciano till he landed a lucky punch. Archie Moore couldn't take a punch. Was a natural middleweight and still knocked Marciano down and dominated the first 4 rounds until his age caught up with him.

It is so funny to see you little white boys live vicariously though this no talent bum and try to make excuses for him and then get a attitude when a black person is a fan of guys like Floyd Mayweather.

Then in your delusional little white brains you will tell yourself he hit harder than natural 220 pound fighters just because you need something to believe in don't you? Marciano hit so hard that it took him 9 rounds of flush punches to knock out a blown up 40 year old middleweight like Archie Moore who was blown out in 1 round by Leonard Morrow a 170 pounder years before Marciano knocked him out so Morrow must of been the hardest puncher of all time then right? Ezzard Charles knocked him out in 8 rounds. Jimmy Bivins did it in 6, Eddie Booker in 8

Not to mention the countless other times Moore was down before he even got in the ring with Marciano but still in your child like white brains he is the hardest puncher in heavyweight history when he wasn't a heavyweight and never knock out a heavyweight.

I wish the moderator was black so any time a white person made a thread with Marciano in it they would get banned.

Wow. I bet if I re-typed this post but substituted "black" for "white", I'd get banned pretty quick.

I just looked it up. The 28 year old James Toney lost to Montell Griffin, and Drake Thazdi

Are you telling me Montell Griffin, Drake Thazdi would have beaten the 1952 Jersey Joe Walcott, 1954 Ezzard Charles, and 1955 Archie Moore?

A 28 year old James Toney lost to Drake Thazdi. That's pathetic. Marciano would have flattened Thazdi in his sleep.
