I've seen the fight. Even watched bits of it recently. I think a poster on here Hank something scored it for Bonavena. One of the judges had it 70-67. Frazier decisively one in scoring but it was a tough fight, no doubt. Frazier's work-rate waned toward the end as well. Marciano was infinitely better. I can't imagine that type of match with Marciano in the last 3 rounds. This could be a difference maker.

I'd rather not get into your points. Someone else asked you to elaborate, and I'll let you guys debate it out. I couldn't even begin to discuss or debate you as I see your points as being unbalanced, and overly simplified.

If you see my points as oversimplified it would explain why you think frazier bonavena was anything more than one sided in fraziers favor.

Cracks me up. You focus on the ONE judge who voted totally out of whack with the press and other judges (one of whom gave bonavena only two round and the other only four... OUT OF 15!!!).

Well, it appears comprehension isn't your strong suit. Look, I respect you when it comes to knowledge. You're clearly a great, dedicated historian. I'll be awaiting that Greb book as everyone else will whenever it comes out. But when it comes to analysis I've never been impressed with your posts. I knew this would happen, probably should've just not even responded but I'm not going to debate this out with you. You're going to have to find another sparring partner. I also don't get why it takes 2 posts for you to respond to one thing I've said. I guess some people got to get it all out.

Frazier wins this off of speed and size. Since they are very similar fighters stylistically Frazier's size will help loads in a trench war.

I love watching the Marciano fights, via ESPN or a the Bio tape I have of him. But, I think Frazier is certainly the winner here. He was bigger and faster. Someone wrote "Career Ender" up above. Possibly for both. Who knows though?

People can't cry "Frazier gets no respect" here anymore. Man, Marciano is taking a pounding in this thread! Let me tell you something, win or lose, Marciano would make life hell for Joe Frazier. In my opinion Rocky's two handed punching superiority will play huge dividends in this fight.

Workrate, I might even go for Marciano. I'm not sure. Strength, i'm nothing like as confident as you. Ali was enormously strong and Frazier handled him a couple of times. I think it's really close.

But i'm not talking about workrate. I'm talking about technical superiority and handspeed. I'm talking about what Frazier's throwing faster, more compact punches inside does to Rocky's workrate. If you've just been hit by a hard, sharp left hook, your own punch often won't carry neccessary weight, and it also affects your balance and therefore your next shot. Meanwhile, Frazier is roping them together.

I think Marciano has to stop Frazier for this reason. I think that's possible. But it's enough in doubt to make me pay Frazier.

But basically, this needs a close, close look with a deep break-down of footage rather than these generalities. None of us know **** about this one really because that task is huge. All we have are our "feelings."

All of what you said was true. Can't disagree with anything. The only thing I can comment on was that Marciano did have good punching technique himself. Yes, at times he got a bit wild, but for the most part he put enormous body torque on his punches and punched with tremendous leverage. To the naked eye, it may not look as beautiful as a sharp crisp fast Frazier left hook, but he got the job done everytime.

I agree with you. I just think Frazier is that little bit neater and would fight "inside" Rocky's best work in terms of width.

I think Marciano would win in 7 after a back-n-forth brutal war of attrition. I could see both of them dropping each other, but Marciano winning it.
