Seamust thoughts regarding anything American is just what one would expect from a European. Complete distortion of reality. Completely off base. Just like his opinions regarding boxing history. Could not be more wrong.
You're really an objectionable, smug piece of work aren't you. You libelled the guy and when asked to produce your proof said **** all. Coward!
I thought that video about his skills was in slow motion. There you go; apparently not. I have learned something. Speaking of learning, there's a tag at the bottom right when you read a post. Word to the wise. It's worth using if you read a post you want to reply to, Funny enough, it says 'reply'. Might be worth using. I worked out you were replying to me but I nearly went all Travis Bickle on your ass for a moment, there.[/QUOTE]
He was getting beat up in an amateur fight and kicked his opponent in the groin.Perhaps that's what he was referring to? lol
Ali sparred with Marciano for a number of weeks. His comments: Marciano was better than Frazier. Just sparring at the end of the day I could not lift my arms. Frazier beat an Ali less than six months removed from a four year layoff. Ali then won fight two and stopped Frazier in fight three. Here is another video which highlights Marciano’s defense. I don't take the average person of today to be any more intelligent. They may have more information pumped into their heads every waking moment of the day, but they are no less gullible to a scam, it just has to be rigged along different lines. There were intelligent, thoughtful, analytical people in the past, just as there are those sorts today. A lot of people fell for the slick marketing around the Blair Witch Project in more recent times, to draw a closer parallel, and even in the last half decade, the endless debates and arguments over "fake news" merely highlight how the internet can be a great tool for illuminating the truth, or a malicious one for distorting it. Human nature's no different now than it was then, and there's still a sucker born every minute. I don't consider myself so far superior to past generations that I can afford to look back at them with such contempt, but perhaps I just didn't evolve far enough. That said, as someone who rates Marciano fairly highly on my list of heavies, I mostly agree with the actual point here, in that many of the stories surrounding the Rock should well be taken with a grain of salt.
2 miles from a white sand beach where hot Euros broads routinely sunbathe topless.... Save me from this Hell!
"I'm not kidding myself I'm any kind of a boxer, you know what I look like in there." " I couldn't avoid Louis' jabs,I just had to take them".Marciano. "I didnt figure on any problems with Marciano. He was strong sure but he fought like a street brawler.Figured I could outbox him anytime. Joe Louis. "Yeah! I was right he was a street brawler. He couldn t touch me when it came to boxing.Marciano was strong though." "But right then in the ring, I knew I was busting him up with my jabs" Everthing was fine until the seventh round. My age gave me away;all of a sudden like my legs gave out. They had to lift me off the stool for the bell in the eighth."Joe Louis.NY March 1971 " Marciano got to me by sheer bulldogging ruggedness, and continuous grinding","finally you understand when he got me in a position where he could hit me then it wasn't long before I had to crumple up because I had no legs.Probably I hadn't had any legs for the past 4/5 years." "Marciano would be too small for modern heavyweights he was slow and had poor balance" Emmanuel Steward
