Terrible matchup for Ken Norton, Marciano by a blast out, early rounds

Norton struggled against big punchers, and Marciano packed great power in both fists. I see him denting Norton's chin in the mid-rounds.

I see Norton outstyling and outathleting the lil feller. Rocky is ever game in a stoppage.

How will Norton deal with Rocky's wrecking ball-like fists?

Yeah I don't believe that Norton loses to every guy that can punch.

Norton could move and box, tie his man up, he could punch a bit himself.

Rocky will be very outsized here.

If he connects with money punches, sure, he could do it.

Rocky very well could win here, but I don't think its a foregone conclusion that because Rocky can punch he wins against Norton.

Marciano has knocked out men that Norton wasnt half the fighter of

Norton was bombed out by Gerry Cooney

And Norton did pretty good against two all-time greats in Ali and Holmes, so he isn't half of nobody.

He got KO'd but it was always monster punchers.

Marciano himself is a monster puncher, and was a brawler with an explosive dart and dash with proficiency on the inside. Everything Norton struggled against. Ali and Holmes were outboxers who didn't overcommit and weren't born with much punch power

I think wrecking balls are actually quite a bit larger. As to the lil guy's mitts, I think Norton would box him, exploit his slow feet, his slow twitch wind ups and punish him from the outside and mid distance.

Rocky's had a very good workrate and could throw a significant volume of punches per round. Add to the fact that Norton wasn't particularly hard to hit, Rocky would definitely land some bombs and I don't think Kenny would be be able to survive very long. He froze up whenever he was hit with a good power punch. We'll have to agree to disagree.

What's with your obsession with calling Marciano small? His fists were actually quite large, the manual labor he did early on must've developed those

Do you think that Marciano is slower than Foreman, or Shavers? Least we not forget his workrate as well

Was he bigger than I remember? He had 11" fists. I guess that is close to Ken's 13" mitts. I guess his 39" chest is close to Kenny's 47" measurement.

But even if I am mistaken and Marciano was actually a behemoth, his speed and lack of athletic prowess is problematic for me in this match up.

But im sure he would give a real all out blue collar effort. Kenny would have to bring his lunch pail because the Rock's training was, and I think I am creating a new phase here, monk-like.

    Those tale of the tapes are inconsistent as hell. I've seen Willard's wrist listed as 10" and 8 1/4", I've seen Liston's Fist listed as 15 1/2", 14 1/2" and 14". I've seen Marciano's height listed as 5' 10 1/2", 5' 11" and 5' 11 1/2", I've seen Louis's biceps listed as small as 13 1/2".

What I do know is what I see, and what I see:

    https://ibb.co/8KJF2T4

Is a man with gigantic hands, which befits his early life, when he had to work many labor jobs. These are sausage fingers, these are not small hands. Boxing training also increases bone density in the hands, I've never seen a heavyweight with 11" hands, except maybe when starting

Especially a puncher like Marciano, who's hands need to be in good condition to survive the force

You think you're clever with the monk-like comment, just because it's an easily quotable description, congratulations.

Marciano may not have been Floyd Patterson, but he could move and was faster than Shavers and Foreman
