Old age and wisdom. I'm sure that Rock would make a fight of it. But I'm also sure he would lose almost every round before the stoppage.
You're wording it like Marciano has no advantage whatsoever. You even laughably gave Holmes the advantage in power.
Let me see, Rocky Marciano a 180 pound fighter who got easily out boxed by 180 pound Roland LaStarza. Rocky Marciano who got the tar beat out of him by 160 to 170 pound club fighter Ted Lowry. Versus 6'3 210 to 215 modern heavyweight Larry Holmes Larry Holmes by brutal 1st round KO. Imagine the Larry Holmes vs Marvis Frazier fight but worse.
If Larry's only choice in the sport was to swing for fences with every engagement, he would have had some spectacular results and a 6 year career. And while Larry pocketed 1/5 the cash of his actual career, simps would be braying about his great power
You do realize physical attributes play a part in styles right? For example Marciano would've never been able box like Holmes he was to small and didn't have the necessary skills. Contrary to that, Holmes couldn't have become a pressure fighter like Rocky. He didn't have the inside game, punch output, nor power of Marciano, Frazier, or others to be able to pull off a style like Marciano's. If people could just pick and chose their styles just like that, the "styles make fights" dilemma would be non existent. Unfortunately that's not the way it is. The fact that I even have to explain this is kinda pathetic.
People who want longevity and to leave the game somewhat unscathed, AND who have the physical tools and skills to do it, pick Holmes style. Every time. Those who have no choice, because God did not bless them, end up as wharfbrawlers.
What if Rocky decides his lefthook to the body is gonna get the job done? What answers would Lawrence have?
At this point you're just trolling and from here on out I refuse to dignify you with a response. Cheers.
Rocky goes to throw the lunging left hooks, Larry see it a mile away and counters. The right uppercut knocks Rocky down and almost out. Rocky gets up and flies into a hail of patented Larry right hands (always with the left holding the head, measuring). Larry by TKO in 11. And btw I have massive respect for Rocky. Rocky would mostly just get outslicked, but Larry's uppercut would undoubtedly get in. And Larry's uppercut was harder than anything Jersey Joe had in his arsenal.
Black Hercules .etc, etc 1 Marciano was not 180lbs 2,Lastarza was not180lbs 3Lowry was not160lbs You've been repeating these lies under various names for a few years now. Your stupidity does not have the merit of even being entertaining
I give Holmes the heavier jab and most definitely heavier uppercut, all day money. The straight and overhand rights and left hook are obviously Rocky. The thing is, with Rocky swarming all the time, the uppercut is immanent. And I don't think Rocky would have stayed on his feet after eating it.
I must say after rewatching Norton Holmes there is little doubt Marciano beats him. Holmes couldn’t hit Norton whenever he went into a crouch (he should have done more of) Marciano crouched much more frequently. Holmes only threw one two punches basically the whole fight. Was looking for that uppercut that some think would crush Rock on the inside and you know what he barely threw it at all the whole fight. Whenever he got in on Holmes he didn’t grab and hold Norton like some said he would Rocky. I don’t see how that version of Holmes beats Marciano at all. He also was completely spent by the 12 which he showed tremendous heart in his fighting. This is not a knock on Holmes who is an incredible fighter. This is a knock on his style versus Marciano’s and I must say I’m even more sure Marciano walks away w a KO victory.
Was Andre Ward trolling when he said the exact same thing on Joe Rogan's podcast? Are you not dignifying him? Do you think Marciano could have had a multi-decade career like Holmes.
Do you think perhaps if Holmes had been fighting with two sound arms instead of with a torn bicep muscle in one .it might have helped him?
