Who wins and why? I know this is a little off topic, but a buddy of mine thinks a 5'11 188 lb Marciano (Career Weight) is beating Lennox Lewis. Thoughts?
Lewis TKO/KO...too big best Marciano can do is last the distance and lose a UD. 13 n half stone 5'10 vs a 240lb Lewis 6'5 with a long jab aint working for Rocky here I think.
He would have no chance he would have a chance against some of the smaller HWs today and beat every CW but no he wouldn't beat Lewis
Marciano was great but in a h2h matchup he would have no chance against the top dogs of today's behemoth era. Lennox wins every time
Marciano gets brutalized here. He also gets dominated by Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, Wlad, Vitali, Holmes, Ali, Frazier for sure. Prob catches a beating from berbick, ruddock, Golota, mercer, tua, ike among many many others. Too small, fought in a weak era in a lot of probably fixed fights. Massively over rated.
Tell your buddy that just because the division was also called heavyweight back then doesn't make it the same thing as today's heavyweight division. Marciano would be a small cruiserweight if he was transported to the modern era, and in all likelihood rocky would be draining down to make light heavyweight. The fight would never get sanctioned for the sake of marcianos safety, but If somehow it did Lewis would brutally knock him out.
He weighed about 185lbs? So today he would likley drop a little weight and fight in LHW, or even maybe SMW. I wonder when todays boxer will get super powers like the old boxers have.
