I'm not referring to skill wise. He argued Lewis weighed to much for Marciano. Humphrey Jackson weighed more than Lewis and outweighed him over ten pounds more than Lewis would outweigh him.
You are equating Jackson with Lewis, its a nonsense.. Look Marciano was 5'10.5" , with a 68" reach, and typically under 190lbs. Lewis was 6'5"with an 84" reach and typically 245lbs . Marciano was slow afoot ,not hard to hit, had a tendency to cut and was given life and death by three men,[two of whom dropped him,] whose combined age was 110 years! In what area is Marciano the superior fighter? Boxing skill? No Power ?No Speed? No Accuracy? No Height? No Reach? No Weight? No Cut Resistance ?No So, tell me who wins this matchup?
When it all comes down to it, it's not even conversation worthy, let alone going through the effort to start a whole thread on the subject.
I think Lewis would beat Rocky, no offense to the Rock, he was incredible in his time, yes I know that sounds offensive, but heavyweights have gotten far bigger since Rocks time. Yes I know there is more to boxing that just size. I just think that Lewis would beat Rocky :bbb
Heart, gumption, tenacity, high motor, brings his lunchpail, hard worker, gym rat, deceptive speed, intangibles, chutzpah!
:deal EXACTLY!! I don't care if Lennox was 7'5/450-- there's simply no way any soft modern fighter can deal with the Rock's magical intangibles, imo.
