Marciano also cut easily and had never met anybody who hit as hard as Lewis.

The whole notion of Marciano winning against a prime Lewis is lunacy. The only attribute l would give the Rock would be conditioning.

No and no. Chin is almost impossible to assess until Marciano is hit cleanly by the likes of Vitali.

And heart is also pretty hard to determine. Vitali had Lewis rocked and Lewis hung on, survived, and won the fight. I think all champs have heart otherwise they simply don't get to the top of the mountain.

 

when you get to world class every fighter scores 10/10 for heart or they wouldnt be where they are but the chin thing ?!?!! How often did Marciano fight a 17st world class heavy, the answer is never.
Marciano's management wouldn't let him near Nino Valdez and were made up when 42 year old Archie Moore beat Valdez for a shot at the rock.

 

Marciano was never touched by 230+ lb punchers like Golata, klitscko, Tua, Bruno, ruddock, grant, Briggs, mercer, or Rahman... So saying that he had a better chin because he was never stopped is a moot point..

 

Lewis wasn't recognized as having one of the worst of all time.

Watch the Holy and Mercer fights, he gets tagged plenty and keeps fighting. That's not the worst of all time.

 

At least as it pertains to the Lewis fight how was Vitali suppose to show more heart? It looked like left to his own devices the was prepared to risk his eyesight. How much more heart would you like him to have had.
