How do we see this one going? At one time I feel this fight was a foregone conclusion in favour of Rocky. But the size increase of HW fighters has led to a larger emphasis being placed on the impact size has in a matchup. Carnera was a fit athletic SHW fighter and was essentially unbeaten in his first 40 fights. He traded decision victories with Jim Maloney and had quite a lofty reputation before running into Jack Sharkey. From then his bubble was somewhat burst and he became relatively inconsistent. Rocky is a bonafide great fighter but for me he wouldn't be a HW today where as Carnera would. I think despite the advantages Rocky batters him for 5 or 6 rounds until eventually the giant drops. Does any think Carnera has enough size to save him here?
stylistically carnera would better than he did vs louis, marciano was slow like **** smaller, shorter and weaker than carnera, rocky was not hard to outbox so... i don't know, marciano could win a decision if he works on cutting the ring presuring and making points working to the body, i doubt that marciano would score the ko he was too short to land with the full power in the chin,on the other hand carnera could tie him and use the distance, carnera was not a monster puncher FOR HIS SIZE but sure he could punch harder than archie moore h2h, he could hurt and drop marciano for sure
Although he couldn't drop past prime light heavyweight Tommy Loughran who was kod by Jack Sharkey,[ ko record 24%]?
Marciano KO 1 Baer would have KOed him 1 too if him and the ref weren't sadists, getting off on Carnera's suffering. Marciano puts the giant out mercilessly.
Would be similar to the baer fight. Marciano would be working away at, crashing the right hand s in when ever he could. Carnera would be dropped about 6 times before the ref call it off round about the tenth.
