    Ouch!!
Maybe his discovery of footage Carnera “killing” Schaff with a single left jab caused this 180 degree turn?

TBH this is the kind of stuff that is turning away posters.
The constant Carnera dribble. The guy was a mob made and created Champ who fought how many fights on the level??
Did he ever legit beat a good fighter??
    Come on now

Listen, you are in bizarro land if you think Rocky is way more skilled than Baer and that his defensive skill is on par with prime versions of Tyson and Frazier. Me, George Crowcroft, and more than half a dozen other posters have already explained why you're wrong but you dug your heels in so I am not about to waste my time opening up this can of worms again. The data and stats you provided on this subject I have already debunked.

Let's get back to Rocky vs Carnera and keep it simple.

Name ONE fighter Rocky beat who had a great uppercut. Bonus points if they had a good jab too, because Carnera had both.

Louis, Moore, Walcott all great uppercuts and jabs. And you debunked NOTHING but in your own mind. At this point I’m assuming you’re trolling. Especially considering last comments. Won’t waste time here.

Really? Louis threw lots of uppercuts against Rocky? The same gunshy Louis who didn't have much left but his jab?

And you're accusing me of trolling?

Well, this is one of the biggest Boxing forums (from what I know, anyway) so the controversy bringing traffic would be good for the site admins / owners. I can't blame them much in that regard. Considering that it is usually just McGrain himself that mods Classic, I think he does a good job, not being overly harsh or lenient. Some other Boxing forums do have separate sections for H2H, and it works very well for users like us, but it leaves the main pages with slower traffic. Most users who come to forums never interact with the content, so maybe the lurkers just like laughing at Primo.

Carnera is indeed dominating the forum now.

    Why?

Because first they ignored him. Then they laughed at him. Then they fought him. And now he’s winning.

Whether you’re still stuck in Budd Schulberg’s alternate reality or not, Carnera’s reputation as a fighter is finally entering a resurgence.

His largest detractors are now using antiquated arguments that have been largely disproven by a generation of crowd sourcing amateur historians. They hold less power because we now have access to all the information, and have done the research.

Just this week we’ve discovered that Carnera fought the most 200lb+ men of any lineal HW in the history of boxing. Effectively disarming another long held trope about Carnera being a weight bully.

In this very thread, a great detractor of his has set his sights on using Carnera to disparage another great HW, by citing his SHW qualities such as height and reach. Qualities that he was formerly accused of not utilizing compared to his modern contemporaries.

It’s all progress. The truth comes out in the end. And that’s what we’re witnessing here.

I’ve contemplated this before and I go back and forth. On the surface Carnera seems like the type of fighter Rocky should destroy but when we take into account the colossal physical advantages, it might not work out that way

Excellent way to put it. My thoughts exactly. On paper, Rocky should take this. But he's giving up some very significant physical advantages. Such as over a half foot in height, 80 or so pounds, etc. And for all that Carnera's the better boxer, is more athletic, etc. I might just about favor Rocky as he was more proven at world-class and I never thought much of Carnera, but honestly he should avoid this fight like the plague.

Where do you rate Carnera's boxing skill on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest?

I do not want any political answers like "for a big man" or "in the p4p sense" just answer the question. What is his skill on an individual level as he was?

So how come Marciano was never mob controlled? He was Italian American and the mob was still around when he became champ?
