Who wins in a fight? Rocky was 188 lbs. RJJ was 193 when he won the heavyweight title. I think LHW version of RJJ from a few years earlier could take on Rocky.

I think it’s very realistic that Roy Jones could out slick Marciano to a decision here. But he can’t afford to get tagged by too many of those Suzie Q’s

I think RJJ wins most rounds till he doesn’t. When he doesn’t it’s over. Matthews (I know he’s not Roy but not the closest opponent to RJJ we have) was doing fine till he got caught.

I see Rock struggling for a while actually. But give it 8or so rounds and the old Marciano punches will start to take effect.
    Marciano Ko 12.

RJJ a bit fragile. Rocky impossible to discourage with real power. It's Rocky.

Roy stops him with a check hook.

I tend to agree with this. Especially if it's over 15 rounds. 8-10 rounds, RJJ might see the end of it and might even win it. Hell, I might even favour Jones to whup him well over 8. But I think that the cumulative punishment that Marciano dished out would catch up to Roy and its going to be ugly when it does. Marciano hit a lot, lot harder than Tarver.

Jones may look good early unless he gets caught, but he won't be able to dance for a full 15 and will gradually slow down as the fight goes on. Marciano will maintain the same level of pressure throughout, even ramping it up as the fight goes on. Marciano takes over after eight and scores a kayo in a late round. The fight would be over the 15-round distance because Al Weill was Marciano's manager and he wouldn't settle for anything less.

Archie Moore referred to Matthews as a "west coast hype job".... Regardless, at the age of 34 (an age past when Marciano had retired) Roy was in the argument as an ALLTIME Top Ten P4P great. He was being seriously compared to Robinson. There is significant gulf between Harry Matthews and Jones.

Im aware of the gulf between them but Matthews was a good fighter regardless. Plenty of solid wins more then most contenders. Moore also thought Marciano would be an easy night. Things fighters say shouldn’t be taken as gospel especially ones that never even fought

One punch is all it takes. Don’t care how fast, athletic, etc Jones was. No way would he be able to take one single flush punch from Marciano. It would be more savage than the Walcott KO was.
