Have you ever thought how did it happen that Marciano was unbeaten when he couldn't do anything right by your criteria?
Another fact worth mentioning that some posters here might not know about is that Del Valle was a former sparring partner of Jones, so he clearly has an edge in that regard over RM since he knew how Roy fights very well.
Hard to say exactly if he was slower. But Ruiz did not exactly land huge bombs. And he fought a bigger and at the same time slower version of Roy due to the extra weight.
WEAK COMPETITION probably caused by WW2...if Marciano, Baer, Willard, Fitzsimmons, Corbett, Carnera, Galento, Layne etc. were fighting next door, I wouldn't walk next door to watch them. I've seen enough of them on film, if you enjoy watching them it doesn't bother me.
Maybe. Roy didn't exactly stay still for Ruiz to land on him. Roy will know RM can hurt him if he lands big, so he'll try to stay out of range
For Roy it is. He's incredibly fast. And Marciano is small and doesn't have great speed. Roy will dart in and out and win on points.
Marciano May have been one of the best ever at closing off a ring. You don’t have the shortest reach in HW champ history and highest KO percentage unless you can cut off a ring. He had many ways of closing the gap.
You do have the highest KO percentage when you fight in a weak era and have better stamina than everyone else
That’s overblown. The best of the 50s stacks up fine with any era. Take the top 20 guys of the 50s and compare them to any other era they stack up fine. Of the men beat three are often put in the top ten p4p ever. Hardly weak even if some ranges of prime vary still impressive.
