It is hard to see Robinson winning, and his performance against Maxim, and the way he wilted when Joey went to the body, does not speak well in my judgment about how he would do with Marciano.

As for Robinson hurting Marciano, Moore was 30 lbs. heavier than Robinson, and Walcott 40 lbs. heavier.

Both Maxim and LaMottta pointed out how much tougher it was to fight heavyweights or light-heavyweights than Robinson despite Robinson's superior talent.

Rather it is you Marciano apologists that claim size does NOT matter. However when it suits your agenda ( as in this instance ) you cling to it like sh it to a blanket.

The laughable ones are the Marciano fan boys. If Bob Fitz can fight and beat Heavies of Marciano stature, then Robinson certainly can. You just can not possibly over state the difference in sheer class here.

Holmes may or may not have been out of order when he said Marciano wasn't fit to carry his jock strap, but that certainly applies to Robinson. It is actually insulting to Robinson to compare someone as crude, and limited as Marciano in the same book, never mind the same thread.

In fact Ray had more skill as a tap dancer than Marciano at boxing.:rofl:rofl

I agree Marciano is not in the same stratosphere as SRR in terms of skill however, Robinson is well within the same stratosphere to those Rocky has faced and beaten in emphatic fashion. While not as fast or as complete a fighter Charles, Moore, Louis and Walcott were supremely skilled boxers, far bigger, stronger and more durable than Robinson (at that weight as Robinson has no fights there to base him off). Marciano KO'd men of heavyweight size and stature, Robinson has never KO'd anyone of Marciano's size.

Look I'm a huge Marciano fan and while I find some predictions people have made regarding him to be a bit ridiculous Marciano is a very special cookie. His chin, power, unlimited stamina/heart, awkward style and immeasurable intangibles makes him an extremely tough assignment for anyone in history. He retired undefeated, fought and beat everyone there was to fight and beat during his time as well as giving rematches to those who gave him the most trouble only to beat them more convincingly. If any fighter deserves some leeway when it comes to predictions it's Marciano.

a better question would be Marciano vs Maxim the man who stopped SRR at light heavyweight and I think we all know the answer to that question.

SRR Robinson would have lost speed and endurance as he got heavier.

His punch resistance would not improve, and may actually go down.

Charles and Moore likely had more talent at that weight than SRR could have had.

If Marciano went lighter it would be frightening. If they met at lets say Lt Hvy. Marciano may have killed him. BUt , I would guess SRR could last a few rounds if Rocky had a bad day.

SRR would be Rockies Yo Yo..... OP, why do you hate SRR?

Funny they said the same about Charles, Walcott, and Moore. He knocked all of them out. You think Robinson could take Moore, Walcott, or Charles?

Rocky had a granite chin. I doubt he even feels the effects of a punch from a 155lb fighter
