So he's overrated because Archie Moore (186-23-10; 60% KO ratio, generally considered one
of the ATG's) knocked Rocky down. No mention that Rocky then proceeded to Rousy-fy, Bolivianize
and Lacy-fy Moore the rest of the way. And by the way, they both weighed 188 pounds at the weigh-in,
diffusing Moore's theory that he was the "little" guy in the match.

Being knocked down is meaningless. Coming back to win after being knocked down is one sign of an ATG fighter.

Knocked down and badly stunned by a 40 year old light heavyweight isn't a mark of commendation. Before you query the badly stunned quote, look up what Marciano himself said about the punch that put him down.

I think that the record shows that Moore was himself one of the strongest heavyweight contenders of all time in his own right. How many challengers beat the #1 the#2 heavyweight contenders? In fact Moore beat the reigning Middleweight champion, the reigning Light heavyweight champion and the #1 and #2 heavyweights in back to back fights. How many fighters in history less than Archie's age did that???

And he weighed the same as the HW champion.

Is it as bad as someone like Mike Tyson getting stopped by a war torn Cruiserweight? What about the behemoth Tyson Fury getting put on his ass by a light hitting CW? Holyfield getting stopped by a fat Middleweight?

Moore was 188lbs. Holyfield 215lbs.Fury is nothing. You dont think the fact that Holyfield was 41 years old and 217lbs is significant? You really are getting lazy, lazy and predictable.

Marciano was also 188lb, Tyson was 222lb and Holyfield 215lb, Cunningham was 210lb and Fury 254lb. Doesn't look all too bad for the Rock does it? Must try harder my friend.......

I would class Moore as one of the best heavyweight contenders of all time.

He was not an all time great heavyweight, but he was not nothing in the division either.

The problem w Marciano is that he is the most over rated all time heavyweight champ while being the most under rated pound for pound champ .. He is loved, in fairness mostly by a white, ethnic crowd for the same reasons most fighters have hardcore fans and disliked by many as a response to those who love him ... the real facts are he was a hell of a fighter, a big time puncher, remarkably conditioned, a terrific chin and heart .. very smart as well .. he was not the best ever by a long shot nor was he anything less than a great fighter ..

Max Schmeling wasn't an ATG HW, Marty Marshall wasn't, Fireman Flynn wasn't, Michael Spinks wasn't, Buster Douglas wasn't, the list goes on and on......
