Old Henry Cooper, from the olden days of CW sized heavies, did well against Bugner so it's definitely doable for prime Rocky.

Guys I really think Marciano has a chance against Bugner.
I know, it's crazy, but I feel it.

I see him pounding out a close decision against the reluctant Hungarian.

And I see him getting pounded in a firefight against Lyle.

FOTC Frazier chops down Lyle in 7 or 8 rounds. Lyle definitely did NOT have heart, once he was really hurt he went desperation mode for the most part...he had trouble staying cool under pressure (or should I say, when he got hit too much).

A much-diminished, past-it Ali knocked him all over the ring (and we all know Ali wasn't the best puncher).

FOTC Frazier would have made it look a lot easier than Foreman...I don't even think that Joe would have been knocked down.

He definitely did, no one fights toe to toe with George Foreman, getting hurt and dropped and getting back up to score a KD against the baddest brawler in history, has no heart.
He might not have a 10th of Holmes, Ali's, Joe's or Patterson's but to say he didn't have heart is a massive overstatement.

Agreed with the rest of the post tho

I agree with the general consensus , Lyle is dangerous for Rocky

I would favour Marciano over all three with varying degrees of difficulty.

Prime for prime, gainst Frazier, Holyfield and Tyson, Marciano is maybe 50-50, could go either way.

I would make him an underdog against Louis, Ali, Foreman, Lewis, Bowe and both Kbrothers.

Too early to say regarding current crop of HWs.

I just don't see it. Not in resume. Not on film,

I think he gets embarrassed by Tyson or Holy... and loses at his own game against Frazier.

He lacks so much that is essential.

Whoa take it easy. We don’t even know if he can beat the guy and you’re talking about winning close decisions. I don’t think we can jump the gun here.

Bugner was generally a tentative boxer and not very quick. Marciano would beat him up.

Lyle was far from a polished boxer, slow fisted and had endurance issues. The bout is competitive early but Lyle fades as Marciano comes on strong.

The greatest attests to Marciano hitting power. He was better than Frazier (quite obviously) as per Ali.

This video neatly provides an excellent overview of Marcianos skills.

    What a load of sh*t.

He never fought Marciano and Frazier dragged him to the edge three times.
