Who said that? Certainly not me, but, since you mention it do you think Louis' chin got better or worse as he aged?
Louis himself said comparing the two times he was kod," Schmeling hit me with a ton of right hands before he got me and Rocky did it with a few punches, but I was younger against Schmeling and you can take more when you're younger".

I don't even know why the Joe Louis fight is being constantly brought up. Are we supposed to believe that just because Rocky stopped a 37 year old man with 70 fights of mileage behind him and who was in the last bout of his career that he'd do that to just anybody ?!? And Louis wasn't even in all that good of shape at 213 anyway. His prime weight ranged from about 199-205.

Marciano debuted at 192 if I'm not mistaken and if we are going to keep bringing up Holyfield's height as evidence of superior weight gaining ability, he's about 1.5 inch taller than Norris.

Using two fights that Norris lost to B-level heavies is not helping your argument.

Louis was completely gone with no hope at all of making the count. His resume is lacking against these fighters because none faced him!

    1. He never cracked 200 and only weighed in the 190 range maybe two-three times in his whole career. He also went down as low as 178 at points.

    2. I never mentioned Holyfield's height, but I'll play along. Evander is commonly listed at 6'2" 1/2.. Norris is listed at 5'9" 1/2. That's almost half a foot in height difference.

Golota being downgraded to "past prime", a year removed from the Grant fight with the Tyson, Byrd, and Ruiz fights is debatable. Norris was 35 in that fight I believe. Tucker probably past prime but still a top 10 fixture until the Lewis fight two years later. And no, as pointed out not that dissimilar style. Golota fight was close and yes, he officially dropped an unpopular split decision to Tucker.

No kidding, but what is your argument with these videos? Norris was inconsistent and terrified of Vitali Klitschko? Yeah, he was.

    1. And Norris was 190 just two months after fighting Tucker at 213. Weight can be variable.

    2. My apologies if not brought specifically by you. And Maricano was listed at 5'11". So he has the same difference over Norris.

Golata was pushing 33, coming off a bad loss, and never did anything of note again aside from being on the short end of the stick in some "alleged" robberies. He still got the win. And again, Norris was no career brawler and Marciano was no career boxer. Tucker WAS past prime and on the comeback trail... His top ten "fixture" as you put it was manufactured by Don King and the only win of note he had in that comeback was... Yep...You guessed it... Senor Norris.

My argument was meant to counteract your cherry picking of rare instances where Norris did something that he generally didn't do and against opponents that really don't help him ( or Marciano ) to make any sort of a case.. You posted videos where you thought he gave problems to good heavyweights.. I posted ones where he was easily and badly beat by them... Seems fair.

Just because Marciano never fought someone considered a skilled super heavyweight why does he automatically lose? It's not like a sub 200 fighter hasn't beaten a skilled super heavyweight.
