Lyle seems to get lots more praise on the forum than Valdez. I guess it's because of his war against George Foreman.

Yes he does, even though Valdez was inarguably a more successful fighter. Beat an abundance of top tenner's. Valdez was admittedly very inconsistent though which is why he lost to fighters he shouldn't have on several occasions.

Foreman was sloppy vs Lyle granted but there still isn't many boxers who could trade punches with Foreman and get the better of it at times like Lyle did.

The fact is Lyle slugged it out with two fighters who would be in most peoples top 5 hardest hitting Heavyweights of all time in Shavers, Foreman. And he managed to beat one of them and came within a whisker of beating the other, and it's the manner in which he fought both fighters. Like I said Lyle wasn't doing any pretty boxing he was slugging it out against two guys who could knockdown the walls of a city.

Foreman had to literally push himself harder than he had in any other victory to beat Lyle.

Foreman/Lyle reminded me of Superman vs Captain Marvel

I remember Foreman talking about being on the canvas in that fight - with the Ali loss & all the complaining he had done about that night no doubt in his head - & he said he asked himself, “What excuse are you going to have this time?

Marciano was dropped by far lesser punchers than these, add this to the fact he'll be going right at them and?,,,,somebody starches him.

Rocky did fight Joe Louis, who registered in at 6’2 214lb, roughly the same size as Baker & Valdes. Louis knocked Valdes out in 1 round in 1950.

would Valdes and Baker have even beaten that version of Louis? They both went 0-3 vs 38 year old Archie Moore

I selected the I don’t know option. I think he’d at least have a chance at beating them all.
