He was extremely athletic...I don’t know how you define athleticism but you’re way off. We have already been over the balance issue. He was not balanced while an amateur first training. You can’t make it to the top with bad balance and you especially can’t make it to the top with an 88 percent KO rate with bad balance. It’s impossible. Literally impossible. What he lacked in speed (he was of average speed not dirt slow...faster then Foreman and Liston for eg) he made up for in style and stamina and power. He was hard to hit and threw nothing but power punches for the length of the fight.

He possessed neither the speed, balance nor power of Tyson and Tua, the only two important heavies who come anywhere near his size over the past 30 years. Marciano was a grinder, pure and simple. He had good, attrition power and relied on his youth and stamina to beat his best opponents. It's not just me saying this. It was those paid to write on boxing in the 1950's. You can disagree with them all you want.

And again, there is no correlative for him over the past 30 years. You can hope and pray that one comes along and that He will Rise Again.

    Happy Passover.

most would pick Rocky to win without giving it a second thought. But I think that fight would be a war. Two brawlers With excellent conditioning and undying hearts. Probably end up being one of the most talked about fights ever
