Alrighty with the absence of Marciano posts lately I figured why not...Plus I love Rocky, one of my favorite fighters ever
I'm putting him against a different class of heavyweight whom I'd think would make some interesting fights
    -Pinklon Thomas
    -Micheal Dokes
    -Tim Witherspoon
    -Randall "Tex" Cobb

Prime for prime against the Brockton blockbuster

    Let's discuss :bbb

these are hard picks for me, like Tim, he was a great fighter but often didn't have his heart in the game. Same with Pinky and Dokes for that matter. All these guys got at least 20lbs on Rocky. That is a advantage right there. Maybe Rocky could of pulled it out, he definitely had the heart no doubt.

When I think of Cobb and Rocky I see blood. Mostly Cobbs I would bet but maybe both of them, I don't think Cobb would have the skill to beat Rocky.

The Rocks going to have trouble with long 80's boxers.I think he can beat Cobb, getting past pinklons jab is also an issue,i don't see that happening.Dokes is going to be quick and strong and Withspoon would be as slick of boxer as hes ever seen. I didn't even mention size because it would be unfair ,I thought size didn't count around here?

Dokes and Thomas both do well but ultimately get stopped against Rock. Marciano outworks and decisions Cobb. I think Witherspoon at his absolute best could beat Rocky. I'm talking Witherspoon circa 1983-1984.

The spoon, a vastly underrated box/fighter would smash the rock, whose limitless courage wouldn't help him.
Maybe Tim couldn't get motivated because his manager/promoter was robbing him blind.
Frank Bruno ended up a wealthy man after his career even if he didn't have a tenth of the spoons talent.

Think Cobb would be the only one marciano could beat

    Witherspoon tko 11
    Marciano v cobb. Marciano ud
    Marciano stops Thomas in 10
Marciano v dokes is tricky as dokes on his night was good. A peak dokes has a tear up with him and it's very close on scorecards either way

Tim arguably beat Holmes. What made him really good was he was a gym rat..around all the past 80's great technical boxers...don't forget this guy was brought up alongside the holme's and spinks and Ali's...Hes just another guy King ruined!

Stylistically and what strengths one had,i would pick Thomas as the one to throw in with Marciano if I had to choose to take him out or win, perfect jab, iron chin decent all around he wouldn't fear much of Rocks shots he would take them and deliver in return..t would be Ezzard Charles 2.0

Most people do here in classic. Didn't live up to his potential but on his best nights he was a big, skilled, mobile fighter with power. Would have been Marciano's toughest opponent.

He would beat Thomas and Cobb fairly easily, Thomas was too predictable and Cobb had nothing to keep him off.

Dokes is 50/50, but I'd favor Marciano, Dokes had very short arms, and Witherspoon was the most well rounded and beats him.
