Who was it back in like 85 that said they wanted TNT Tuibbs? He said yeah I want tnt ---tacos n tostadas tubbs.

I don't think it was Witherspoon, but memory fails with that above line and it always cracked me up.

Against a guy like Marciano, Tubbs has no chance. He needs a puncher that wilts or fights dumb & one dimensional type guy he can use his tricks on. Not an 85 Carl Williams, but a I wanted him in with say, a comebacking ****ey. Tubbs would've beaten an 85 Weaver or Smith or a Bruno type guy, but he was like the other 80's guys---longevity at the top undefeated is the problem. He'll have his one good night and then downhill quick after that peak performance.

I still want to know who Tubbs TNT'd?

Cobb, Dokes, Smith and Tubbs all appeared on the same card one time. At the press conference Somebody promoting Tubbs said "Tony TNT is explosive, and he has a short fuse!"

Tex Cobb says "I seen him in the shower, Tubbs ain't got no short fuse!!"

Well he did beat Smith in 1985 so that's a safe enough pick.
I think he beats Bruno too.
But I'm not sure about Weaver. He might get KO'd by Hercules.

How many rounds and what size is the ring? The longer the amount of rounds, and the smaller the ring, the better Rocky's chances are.

I like Tubbs in a 10 round match, and Rocky in a 15 round match.

Tubbs could move and box, but lost three matches to the best punchers he faced.

It would be a good one and possibility hard to score with Tubbs landing more, but Rocky landing the harder blows

    Tubbs would lose the fight.
He can't handle the pace. Rocky would bludgeon him.

How good was Rocky at taking punishment from a world class full size heavyweight. Tubbs kept a decent pace of output himself. And Rocky's actual output diminished drastically against top shelf boxer-types like Walcott... and would do similarly against Prime Tubbs.

Rocky KO'd Walcott in round 13, so his output was fine.
Tubbs didn't dish out anything Rocky hasn't taken before. An old Louis and Walcott still hit harder than Tubbs.

    What is prime Tubbs ?

Prime Tubbs would lose to Primo Carnera. To say that is not being outrageous at all.

Tubbs was a fat slob who could not break an egg with his punches. Rocky would ruin him.....easy pickings for Rocky at his best. Marciano could MOVE a 300 pound heavy bag with his punches. Try it sometime and watch how the bag won't move and your shoulders will feel as if they are coming out of their sockets. Marciano could hit like few other. Tubbs lard filled belly would be a prime target.

i think tony tubbs could very well beat joe louis, let alone rocky marciano.

tubbs is way faster than marciano nad also much bigger, would not be suprised if he stopped rocky. 230 lbs super fast and slick boxer with electrifying handspeed, that just looks like the worst style for rocky marciano to deal with.

Might be heresy but Joe Louis is actually probably a much better stylistic matchup for Tubbs...

Can Tony Tubbs also beat Ali Frazier and Foreman in the same night?

Doing a punchcount in that fight, he has rounds where he throws 30 punches. Having late power... and the benefit of a gassed, old man walking into your Sunday shot, is not about output, it's about late power and a bit of luck.

Well, it was plenty enough output to KO his opponent.

Tubbs hasn't seen the day he was as well conditioned as the "gassed old man".
