Rocky Marciano. Was he overrated, or as great as his fanboys make him out to be?

    Ah yes, Rocky Marciano, the ICON of Italian Boxing. The man who conquered Joe Louis.:nut The man who destroyed Archie Moore:roll: The man who made mincemeat of 58 year old Jersey Joe Walcott;) and Ezzard Charles:-( as well. Wow. What a resume of superstars. 49-0 and still the only HW Champ to retire undefeated. The purpose of this poll is simple. This "Computer Geek" thinks that Marciano is the most overrated HW in history, and his best wins were over Geriatric Competition. He also thinks that Larry Holmes, Ali or Lewis or Tyson would have make Maricano's rectum bleed inside the ropes. George Foreman has been known to take massive shits on Sunday AMs that weigh more than Marciano did in his prime.

    Being that an Eye-Talian is fighting tonite, the same boys from Philly and the Bronx that cheered Rocky Balboa, (The ones Eddie Murphy makes fun of) are out in droves tonite, praying for a miracle)

    Can you imagine Marciano in the division in the 70's? Ernie Shavers would have belched and knocked him over. In the 80's Tyson would have decapitated his ass, and in the 90's, Riddick Bowe could have knocked him out with a powerful fart. And the 2000s? Wow, Lennox Lewis could throw a fast knee strike and hit him on the jaw. The image in the back of the Bogus/BS Ali-Marciano DVD Dream fight says it all. It looks like Sylvester Stallone trying to get in Kevin Garnett's face.

    I thought yesterday, think today, and will think tomarrow, that Rocky Marciano could not carry drops of sweat in a vial, from Holmes' wet jockstrap, and you can quote me on that.

    Well in the man's defence he did beat everyman put in front of him as well as being - by todays standards - a LHW not even cruiserweight so putting him against people in the 60's is a bit much considering for the last 50+ years HW's have just gotten bigger and bigger...

    Such a nice and unbiased poll you have here geek.Of course no one is gonna say he is the GOAT and destroy those guys like Lewis,Foreman etc.With Tyson might have been a different story.Can't take away from the man's valore as much you try can you?When you''ll be 3 feet under he will still be a legend,ATG,only HW champ to retire undefeated and remembered as one of the greats.The question should be if he is a top 5 ATG HW not that biased bull**** there.

    Your sorry ass never even tried to lace them up, and you're trying to discredit a boxers career calling Rocky overrated!!!??? lol. Nobody believes Rocky is the best heavy of all times. He was 184 lbs soak and wet. He wouldn't even be a heavy today. No, he isn't overrated, he could fight. He can only fight the guys during his time. He is only overrated when his fans and fanatics try to say he is the best heavy ever. Nobody believes that pusshead. Sorry ass thread.     As I've said we need to take size into account here guys anything less just smacks of ignorance. Lets put this into a better perspective: 90% of the posters here say Manny vs DLH is a mismatch well Marciano vs Lewis would be too considering the attributes. Ofc Lewis would beat him. Shrink Lewis to 5,11 or Marciano to 6'6" and then it all changes doesn't it?
