Got the 16 names yet? I post facts not dirt. You keep posting false -hoods,I'm sure they are unintentional, but since you are too lazy to verify them, you really shouldn't get annoyed when I correct them. This is how it works' YOU make a statement,if someone says that is not true ,the onus is then on you to prove YOUR statement . Not THEM to disprove it. So far YOU haven't done that
"No other punchers ever damaged his opponents the way Rocky did? Do you want a list of just heavyweights or pound for pound that did?
Just another Dunning-Kruger forum clown, mcvey. 49 fights 45 opponents (he faced twice LaStarza, Walcott, Buonvino and Lowry) 11 opponents (Epperson, Edwards, Weeks, Jackson, Evans, Haft, Louthis, Vingo Eatman, Buonvino and Savold) stopped boxing after facing him, 13 in total if we count Louis and Walcott As I mention - he made enough people quit and almost killed one (Vingo had a 50% chance of survival and was damaged for life). So yeah, fair percentage of damaged people one way or another. Damage and death are different, don't you know? Otherwise, it isn't a secret even lighter fighters happened to kill opponents, but it is not what I meant.
Go check out the official National Boxing Association ratings. Go tell them how dishonest they were at the time.
Sorry but ; Epperson1-1-0 Edwards 0-0-0 Weeks 0-1-0 Jackson 4-2-0 Did not retire because of the damage Marciano inflicted on them. And ,as I have explained old age retired , Louis,Savold and Walcott. That is 7 of your 13 removed. You are labouring under the delusion I am a Marciano hater ,far from it, I suggest you take the time to read my earlier posts. I am not a Marciano hater, but I am heartily sick of the hyperbole and outright BS that surfaces every time a thread involving him appears
And you don't consider that the rest listed having more experience in boxing also stopped after facing him, so maybe he also made those beginners rethink boxing. Savold, Louis and Walcott, old or not, didn't retire before facing him, Walcott even had a rematch. While I agree about the hyperbole around any fighter is tiring, I don't see much of it around Rocky. Go check Usyk-related odes.
I think there was cause to defend the title against Nino within the nine month period he was logical contender …but he lost against Moore. they chose Cockell because out of the two challengers Don had sold well on the west coast. Should they have chose Nino? Maybe. But christonberry of the NBA stated there wasn’t much between nino and Cockell. Why should Marciano team get blamed when Cockell was good enough for the NBA? Yes Charles was the logical contender. And an ex champion. So that was right. Check out the latest official ratings before Rocky defended the title. Rocky Marciano, Champion Logical contender Ezzard Charles Outstanding boxers Nino Valdes Don Cockell Roland LaStarza Yes. The rematch should have been Ninos shot…but they took Charles because there was a demand for it. Lastarza was the number one contender not Nino Valdes. Check out the two most recent official rating ahead of the Lastarza title fight. ocky Marciano, Champion Logical contender Ezzard Charles Outstanding boxers Roland LaStarza Dan Bucceroni Bob Satterfield Honorable Mentions Tommy Harrison Coley Wallace Harry (Kid) Matthews Heinz Neuhaus Earl Walls champion Marciano Logical contenders Jersey Joe Walcott Ezzard Charles Outstanding boxers Roland LaStarza Dan Bucceroni Honorable Mentions Harry (Kid) Matthews Rex Layne Coley Wallace Bob Baker Heinz Neuhaus Jimmy Bivins Karel Sys Yes Cockell. The contender the NBA thought was no different to Valdes. Who’s fault was that? Valdes subsequently wrecking Cockell after Marciano wrecked Don is akin to Damiani subsequently wrecking Biggs after Tyson did it. Or any amount of contenders beating someone after the champion wrecked him. the most recent fights, two wins, were threat to the title statements where Charles demolished Coley Wallace and Bob Satterfield.
I see that Marciano fought a collection of puddings and continued to do so long after it was justified as him learning the ropes.
Which literally every big fighter does more or less. He faced enough good boxers and all he could especially for the short career. But yes, move the talk again...
