Valdes has great punch selection and lightening combinations, but he’s great at walking pressure fighters onto punches, would he be able to get the job done with educated pressure here, or are the styles so that Johnson doesn’t give him the counter punching opportunities and he can use his slickness and outbox him at range without having to commit? Who wins this matchup?
As good a fighter as Johnson was Valdez would outpunch him and wear him out in a 15 round fight. John's best bet would have the fight be 12 rounds where he might be able squeak out a close win
I could see Johnson outslicking Valdez to a dec, but also see Johnson being too conservative & doing just enough to fall short as he did vs. Toney.
