I already said Briscoe-Mugabi was a borderline mismatch.... this is a full one.

Valdez via murder. Mugabi couldn't carry Valdez's spit bucket.

Can't say it any better than Xplosive did. The ignorance and downgrading of the 60's-70's middleweights continues...and reveals the low boxing IQ of the many 90's-babies and their ignorant brethren on board here.

I don't even think I'd pick Mugabi over Matthew Hilton, LET ALONE Valdez and Briscoe.

Probably Valdez wins it. Mugabi was a big puncher, but not much beyond that.

Side question, do you think Valdez would beat Duran, Hearns or Leonard at middle weight? I see Valdes going 0-3 here.

    Your thoughts?

I don't And what makes you think Hearns was a great middle? His worst weight … You don't think Valdez would over power him and find that chin ?? ,,, I do

Valdez beats up Duran at 160. No doubt whatsoever in my mind.

Hearns would have box carefully and keep Valdez at range, because if Valdez lands a good one flush, Tommy is going to sleep. My money would be on Valdez catching him and stopping him.

The Leonard of 87 had enough mobility left to outbox Valdez, but he'd have to endure some scares.

    So Valdez goes 2-1.

No, I think Valdez was too short with t-rex reach and Hearns with his power and reach, combined with his speed would unload on him.

69" reach vs 78" reach. Hearns was clearly the better boxer. Even better than Leonard when they met. A bad style match up for Valdez and Hearns could certainly KO him too.

Well first off, Hearns wasn't better than Leonard or he would have won the fight .. so the myth that Hearns outboxed Leonard over 15 rounds is horse**** , Leonard won , end of story, he stopped him in the 14th and had the 15th in his back pocket as well … Hagler's reach 75" and Barkleys 74" .. Having the longer reach doesn't always win the fight , now does it

It certainly is a myth that Hearns outboxed Leonard in the first fight. One of the biggest myths ever.

Once Ray hurt Tommy in the 6th round, the rest of the fight was only a matter of time.

I also have Valdez by KO. A brutal puncher and underrated boxer. Valdez was a great fighter in my book.

Valdez was a great fighter from the waist up but I can hop through drying tarmac in my flip-flops quicker than he could go after a moving opponent. A plodder if ever there was one but with superb upper- body and head movement, ko power in both hands, great timing and excellent smooth counter punching in combination. Such a shame that he needed to be set 100 per cent of the time to throw and was so easy to turn and reset.

Mugabi was too one dimensional to beat Valdez.
