Rodrigo Valdez's 3rd win over Briscoe - an underrated technical masterpiece?

Monzon's retirement paved the way for Valdez to finally reach the top of the mountain, & he did so by beating familiar foe Briscoe w/ a mix of clever boxing & selective slugging. From a purely technical perspective, I've always believed this was Valdez's best career performance, even if it lacked the explosiveness that typified his previous performances. @ the risk of sounding hyperbolic, his performance on this night reminds me of a blend of Dick Tiger w/ some flashes of SRL.

I think he's 1 of the most well-rounded mws I've ever seen - great infighting skill, fast hands, explosive power, granite chin, & (as he showed in this fight) he could box off the back foot as well. His only weakness, perhaps, was that he sometimes struggled w/ slick movers.
