Nah, my mate does it whatever county he's in. Spain, France, Germany he puts on the accent, talks in English and thinks everyone will understand him
well yeah thats what happens man, i moved to england when i was 14 my little sis was born in england and still lives there to this day with all my family, 3 bro's and 3 sis, they have lived there now for 11 years and all talk with english accents, however they all regard themselves as irish even my lil sis who has never even lived or wasnt born in ireland, there are quite a few of those people around the world
yep what he said. personally I never thought it was just an Irish thing but maybe it is the case that we fell a big sense of nationality/patriotism/whatever you want to call it... than a lot of other countries. Not having a pop at anyone saying that by the way. But a lot of people here seem to think you stop being Irish (or whatever) once you leave the country and that is not the case. On the flip side you have some ****s who live here that were born and bred and haven't a clue or give a **** about being Irish. I guess thats why god invented the southside
My angle with Tunney and Sullivan is that they wern't born in Ireland or fought out of Ireland during their careers, I don't think their parents stopped being Irish once they left Ireland though. Its been good to hear the different sides to the argument....
Well its all been decent discussion so I agree with Gaz the Paddy there. There were no low blows, and it was a fair fight. Makes a change from the usual internet **** slinging! PS I tell you what, there will be some ****ing row about who has 'ownership of' Perez, Acosta an Garcia Cubans, brought to Ireland and introduced to the pro game here, looking like there are going to be brought along in Newcastle but possibly all headed for the glamour and big time of the US. Cuba -v- Ireland -v- UK -v- USA who wins?
welcome to the Brit forum! Thats why i like it in here theres none of the usual internet forum bull****
I think your missing the point mate... These fighters consider themselves irish..... both theyre parents are irish......... Does Lewis consider himself Jamaican???
Honestly, read the rest of the thread. I'm not going to have a go at you because I reckon you read bits of this thread without really checking in on the whole thing. You quoted one post from this thread. I must have put up 10 posts on this thread after that. I tried to explain (and I think I did) my opinions to the other posters who were having the banter/arugment with me on here. We are all on the same page now. You, on the other hand, are arguing over something that is long gone. And anyway, we all know Lewis is Welsh. He used to train in a shed behind some fellas garden. Him and Colin Jones would spar for hours on end. Honest!
I was born in the U.S came here 17 years ago.... I consider myself British even have the passport to prove it
