I Teresa Guidice the **** out of Cool Kids tables.:deal: Countless times I've said Mayweather would dominate opponents that it's quite unpopular to say that about, I don't hate Floyd, or dislike him personally all that much, did I root against him frequently? Yes, but that had more to do with liking Guerrero, Pacquiao, Maidana, De La Hoya better than Floyd. Shhh, I actually rooted for Floyd to beat Cotto, Marquez, Canelo and Hatton, was ambivalent with Ortiz and Mosley. But of course I would choose the populist side most of the time.:sisi1 That being said, I like early Floyd, even did a thread abut how I was a begrudging fanboy of him back in the day.

It's just that I really really don't want to waste my time watching Roger, it's depressing, and I'm not in a classic boxing watching mood. I personally like Roger and enjoy watching him box, but not now. Too soon. That and I want to watch Birds Of Prey and Hustlers later.:gayfight:

I'm one of those guys who can sit through most fights haha so I didn't mind it, however I wouldn't recommend it for someone like @CST80 for example , who would probably smash his laptop and start cursing Mayweather endlessly afterwards

Edit: Just saw @CST80 and his post just above so maybe he would enjoy it :pancarta:

IB, on a scale of 1-10 (one being comparable to Judah-Witter, Ruiz-Valuev or Hughie Fury levels of impenetrably boring fights; ten being around the level of Margarito-Cotto I) how would you rate this one?

Hmm...it's a tight 6.5 anyway. Now, had they met in, say, '85, when both Gato and Mamba were different animals, they'd put on at least an eight.

Hmm, is a 6.5 worth spending half an hour+ watching? Which fight would you compare it to on this scale?

It's good sloppy fun, I'd liken it to a Berto vs. Ortiz (which I honestly always thought was a tad overrated and never deserved FOTY honors, as that was a CRAZY good year, for the hipsters that watched more than HBO and Showtime anyway)

Note: just to be clear (not insinuating that you'd mistaken them, purely for CYA purposes :D), this isn't the same Rodolfo González that fought our boy Guts in the 70's, confusingly also nicknamed El Gato. This one may have been a little past his prime against Roger but that older guy would've needed a hip replacement after 1rd. :sisi1

Thanks for the post, before my time but he and Freddy Roach are two trainers turned fighters who I've wanted to try to watch more of their fights

He fought a hell of a fight vs Chavez and Whitaker

Roach was a merely okay fighter, but fun to watch.

Yeah, I know this Gato is a bit of a newer, less special modern. I imagine that the younger Gato was drawn to the original due to the name, and ended up being and in awe of the Cat's style and talent. After that, I assume he then took on the nickname in an attempt to commemorate the older one, who's career was over for some four years before the younger one turned pro. Obviously this was in a frivolous fit of carelessness, inconsiderate to the poor souls who try to separate the two on forum's almost forty years later. :ohno

I'll give it a watch, for sure then. Sloppy action, is still action, as my desperate friend is so fond of telling people.
