I think it's a case of sour grapes on Rogers part and the racism is showing through. US Boxing is fairing poorly these days and fighters from around the globe don't get any respect from him. I'm sure he has plenty of sympathisers around him all basking in the glories of yesteryear and blaming everything and anything for the dearth of talent stateside. I believe money leaving the Sport there and not being re-invested as being a contributing factor to US Boxings decline, and it's ironic that his nephew is taking a large chunk of the pot and throwing it away on nightclubs and vacations!
Let's just say I don't think Floyd is an ideal role model for US Boxing considering he is the crown jewel.
Well actually in some instances this is true. I'm in the Southern United States (Arkansas), and there are still people especially older people who aren't racist per se', but say a lot of racist **** out of ignorance. Some of these people are "good people", people that care about their fellow man, and their actions clearly demonstrate this. Due to lack of education, isolated environments, and/or lack of real life experince they still say things that are racist in nature. Some people just really don't know better, and simply speak the way they always have and it comes out as something that would be taboo in most social circumstances.
look at the white boy defending the black man once again, you will never be black stewart. you, bobby heenan, jeff m and bill butcher should make some kind of wigger club or something, you all act alike.
Some of Mayweather's beauties from that interview: RM: Amir Khan already done got his ass whooped once and it will happen again soon. The thing about Amir Khan, so what? This content is protected , number one. RM: What I'm saying is there ain't nothing; no brothers that I want to see other than my nephew out there and I show wouldn't watch them This content is protected This content is protected RM: Man, you ain't This content is protected no fighter. I ain't never seen a white fighter that can train nobody as far as I'm concerned. RM: Angelo Dundee sho in the **** didn't train Muhammad Ali...He ain't train no mother****ing Muhammad Ali and he didn't train Sugar Ray Leonard either ============================= That's not racist ????? :think
So you guys think Roger falls into this category of a good guy that means no offense, he just doesn't know any better? Dude hasn't been living under a rock. I'd imagine at his level of fame and exposure, he knows well enough for us not to give him a pass on this sort of garbage.
No not at all, I was simply responding to the post I quoted, in my post. I don't know Roger, I don't know what Roger's intentions are, and I didn't read the interview, so I can't say anything about Roger definitively. I spend a decent amount of time around people that aren't overly educated hence it's not far fetched to hear **** like this from white folks or black folks around where I'm from. That said, no I'm not defending Roger at all, I was simply acknowledging a phenomenon that I have experience with.
