Nothing crazy about going after pac, Roger might have just said that out of the blue without thinking. Ortiz is enough tune up, guy is relentless and a southpaw. I can't think of any other fighter that would be a good tune up unless he fights ortiz again or judah. Floyd vs. Judah 2 would be good just in case. judah got a belt. Floyd wins against ortiz he gets a belt then another belt winning against judah he will get more leverage against pac in negotiations

the problem with your post is floyd pass up in fighting margarito at 147. it would be perfectly ok for floyd to fight margarito at anyweight above 147. also it was known that oscar was actually preparing to rematch floyd at 147 so oscar did not really go down for pac but it was for floyd.

Rroger oh Roger....one of the major Shame on Mayweather's member

    @all *****s:
listen to me you God Damn ****....
Dont be Fool you fcukin idiots

When someone believe he is the best and the other is just a wild no skills and you also believe that there is no chance for the no skill to win the fight, why you says that he also need a tune-up fight is the result of the fight is definetly for you

I Just wondering why the Mayweather's dont get studied about being realistic and appreciate for someone achievements
You all got to study a moral ethics

You see what Paquiao said about mayweather vs ortiz, he made a good comments for boxing sake

What the opposite attitude are they
and when the time come God will tell you the truth

    :huh

Floyd wanted the WBC 154lb belt, so the fight vs Oscar was always going to be @ 154 :nut

I cannot believe people still think Margarito was EVER a thread to Floyd. They always were worlds apart skill wise, and Floyd would have totally destroyed him in every way.

I'll always give credit to Pac to beating Cotto though.

    PEDS is overrated in boxing.

Those names you mentioned never became more dominant when they were thought to be using PEDS simply because boxing is one sport that PEDS won't give you much benefit.

Take the case of steroids - you gain muscle mass and strength but then again you also gain weight (which by the way those you mentioned were accused when they went up in divisions) and thereby you go up to a higher division where yopu fight fighters who are naturally bigger than you are can nullify the gain in power you have.

EPO is used to gain stamina but even proper training, altitude training could give you the same benefit.

HGH is studies has not proven to give extra benefit except for burst of speed type of sport like a 100 meter dash, but not on sustained activity like boxing.

It still boils down to skills and more importantly natural ability or genetics. You can give a boatload of PEDS to Malignaggi and he would still be a powder-pufffer. He will just be in the heavyweight division by weight, looking like incredible hulk but he is not going to win in any fight.

If it is a 100 meter run, then PEDS would give you much benefit because there is no weight divisions that would equalize whatever you gained using PEDS. There is simply no way you can become stronger without adding muscle to your mass, which equates to more weight.

And if you follow Divac's line of reasoning that steroids makes you recover faster, well, steroids for recovery is perfectly legal. It is the anabolic steroids that are illegal in WADA. The WADA lists is very specific with these matters. You can use steroids with corticosterone effect like ANTI-INFLAMMATORY with a clause that it should be medically administered or in other words, with permission.

That is why it does not bother me at all. Has there been a fighter ever in boxing history who became more dominant because of PEDS? If Pac is the case, then he is the only one in thousands who did so. Considering how easy to get away with it (as claimed by many here), then we should see many duplicationg or close to doing what Pac is doing.

In baseball wher you are not governed by weight classes, sure there are a lot. It is like a contests of who would look like Ben Johnson or Lou Ferrigno. Sosa, Macguire looked like freaks when they did their PEDS run. But if it was governed by weight classs, I am sure they could never accomplished what they were able to do.
