Roger Mayweather on Floyd-Cotto!!!

    FF: Do you think Floyd will fight Miguel Cotto?


    RM: Why wouldn’t he? I mean, Shane Mosley fought Cotto, didn’t he? And what did Cotto do with Mosley? I’m not even sure he won that fight. I know they gave it to him but I’m not going to say he won. Why wouldn’t Floyd fight him?

    FF: If Cotto beats Antonio Margarito, a Mayweather vs. Cotto fight could be a very big money fight for early next year…


    RM: Listen, if it makes dollars, it makes sense. It’s obvious Floyd doesn’t duck and dodge money. So if Cotto beats Margarito impressively, then we’ve got something to talk about. Until he does that, he hasn’t been impressive to me. He was impressive against Zab Judah, but Zab let off him and Zab hurt Cotto also. We’ve got to wait and see how he looks vs. Margarito to determine how big a fight between him and Floyd would be and how well it would sell.

    Uncle Roger Mayweather makes a lot of sense to me. When someone like Uncle Roger speaks we should listen to the boxing wisdom on offer in my opinion.

    Floyd will fight Cotto in 09.

    This interview just reaffirms my belief in that.

    As Roger said, "Why Wouldn't He?" There's money AND legacy in this fight, which I'm sure Roger and Floyd are quite confident of being able to win.

    Mayweather never showed evidence of being truly hurt, like Cotto during the start of their fight. Don't mention that bull**** moment were Mayweather touched the floor. It should've been counted technically as a KD, but Mayweather wasn't hurt.

    Mayweather was "buzzed" in the 3rd round I believe... But hurt? His eyes didn't glaze over, and his legs didn't do a jiggle. He just covered up and began to smile... I think its obvious who was hurt in their respective fights with Judah.

    But people see what they wanna see.

    He has some good points, but hes also talking bull****. Cotto beat Mosley clearly, I don't see any way under the correct scoring criteria that you could give that fight to Mosley. I fail to see how anyone could give Mosley the fight and I've seen it numerous times trying to be as bias as I can for Mosley and I still can't score it for him.

    Back to the topic at hand, they've been waiting to promote and build this fight as much as they could, Cotto will spank Margarito and then fight Floyd.

    I think Zab DID hurt Mayweather but didn't finish the job. He always ran out of gas...........
