A Ward win threatens his nephews #1 Spot of course Roger is gonna slightly ride against SOG. +It also pumps up Hunter by proxy.
Ward wins a UD, Hopkins/Pavlik style. This from a guy who voted for Gary Johnson, so don't blame me for all the crap happening right now.
Correct. Kelly Pavlik was a very good fighter, one of my favorites in his prime. But B-Hop was a much better technical boxer who figured out Pavlik's style and took advantage of his defensive deficiencies. I like Kovalek. I like Ward. It's just the way I see it.
it doesnt matter that you liked pavlik and he was your favourite. kovalev is leaps and bounds above him. the only thing you can say pavlik over kova and this completely unproven but pavlik had an iron chin. otherwise we are talking about a high stamina, durable puncher who had length and strength, compared to kovalev who has real boxing skills, distance control, educated and powerful jab and devious punching power. different story.
I'm leaning towards Ward, 55-45. Kovalev is the only guy under 200lbs that I think has a good chance to beat him. Even though it was a near 50-year-old Hopkins, Kovalve really showed me something in that fight. He boxed patiently and totally dominated the distance. Not expecting Gatti-Ward but this should be really interesting.
But what does Professor I.C. Chins say? Someone tell the Professor to get off that hooker and gives us some punch resistance analysis, please.
Bhop had a natural size advantage over Pavlik, Hopkins needs that size advantage. Also Kovalev is leaps and bounds more technical and powerful than Pavlik.
Ward by wide UD. Really a 75-25 fight not close to 50-50. Won't be any running. He'll being in the pocket, in his face all night but Kov won't land. If your power can't land then you have no power.
