From Roger himself, sounds like a good match, technically Gamboa needs to make improvements

I'll copy and paste what I said in another thread:

I've actually thought about this hookup before. Gamboa has good defense, but he has mental lapses and loses focus sometimes. He already uses a version of the shoulder roll. If he gets with Roger, he can fix all that and be better suited for the higher weights. Oh and he already has a check hook and somewhat of a pull counter :hey

Gamboa is more of a dynamic explosive fighter like Pac than he is like Floyd

He should seek Ronnie shields he's doing a great job with rigondick or cottoes coach (gamboas amateur coach) looks to be pretty good.

    I remember that
ya I feel you. Gamboa is blessed that he could work well with a few trainers. Even Freddie Roach would be good for him

Roger has had no actual success as trainer outside of Floyd ! Lets revist this once Gamboa is on the downside !

That's because Floyd makes him very exclusive. Roger really only works with kids and works with Floyd. He has trained other fighters though for a small period of time (Peterson brothers, Khan, Forrest, Forbes, Coleman, Vargas ect)

Roger is the best mayweather trainer, he may sound like a crackhead but the advice he gives is always spot on.

i remember i think it was the mitchell fight he was arguing with floyd to work the body instead of throwing power shots to the head, he started pleading and when floyd finally went to the body he stopped mitchell.

even roach himself admitted he thinks rogers a good coach and better than sr, one time i remember specifically during the pac-hatton build up they asked roach what he thinks of floyd sr he replied with "he's ok but he's no Roger Mayweather".
