Roger Mayweather teaching basics to MMA fighters

I like MMA but do think the striking hasnt really advanced. Still today far too many fighters have C grade boxing skills.

Same with the kicking skills. C-Level K-1 stuff.

 

Guys like Fedor & Cro-cop are great strikers. Anderson Silva is pretty impressive too...

MMA striking defense is different from boxing anyways...they have to position their legs differently, they cant really block punches as well because the gloves are much smaller thus the risk of them getting through are much bigger. In boxing you can also afford to take a punch or two, in MMA if a punch gets through, if it doesnt KO you most likely it will cut you up...because their gloves are so thin.

Also I dont get why mma & boxing feel the need to battle it out for the sport, as if a person who follows tennis could not follow baseball too...If anything, they would do well to promote each others business, and share its fans.

I was recently rewatching Mayweather/Marquez. I never really paid attion to his corner work, but I decided to pay attition to it between rounds. He might be crazy but he knows boxing and knows what adjustments need to be made in fight.
