Roger was pretty good at 140 for a while. His durability seemed better and he had improved on his skill, adopting the defensive techniques of his brother and nephew. The way he took apart Pazienza was quite masterful and he obviously packed a punch in that right hand of his. Hatton was no JC Chavez at 140 and probably wouldn't have been able to eat up those right hands that Chavez did from Mayweather. Roger's chin still wasn't too reliable as we saw against Pineda (who admittedly could punch). It would've been a very, very dangerous match-up for Hatton. I actually think Roger is naturally more talented than Floyd or Floyd Sr. He has a better jab, more power, more range/height, just as quick. His trainer said he was too lazy in training though I'd pick Roger to knock Hatton out all the same
Roger wasn't a journeyman but a two-division world champion though. The only thing that separates Hatton from Roger Mayweather at 140 is that he beat an old Kostya Tszyu.
Hatton by decision or late stoppage. I think he'd be too consistent and Mayweather could only outbox him in spots, ultimately losing on activity by taking the better shots more consistently.
very close fight for me hatton's work to the body would be a factor but so would the shots he would have to take to get close enough to land them. i am slightly edging toward mayweather but with no great conviction
