This is no easy fight for Ricky Hatton. Mayweather at 140 was a force to be reckoned with, and gave Chavez a real tough fight there, before he pulled out complaining of stomach cramps. He also beat Vinny Pazienza at this weight, pretty easily too.

I think Ricky Hatton is pretty much unbeatable at 140, but would be a good test for the Hitman.

If ever a guy was built for a weight division, it's Ricky Hatton. Thing is, these days with 17 different weight classes, it just ain't enough to win titles in one!

You think Hatton can beat Chavez, Nicolino Locche, Antonio Cervantes, Wilfred Benitez, Aaron Pryor, Pernell Whitaker at this weight?

    Well........ who knows!

All I can say is that he has beaten 42 opponents at 140lbs, and none of them have looked like beating him!

Even in the Tszyu fight, you knew he was winning it maybe 116-113.

The only time he has been beaten/looked like getting beaten have been in his two welterweight fights.

No he isn't anywhere near unbeatable at 140. Mayweather was willing to make the fight at 140 on many occasions and Hatton wanted it at 147 so he wouldn't lose his 140 status. Floyd Mayweather Jr would beat Hatton at 140 as would Whitaker, Delahoya, Benitez, Duran, Prime Tyszu, Chavez, Meldrick Taylor and Loche. Witter and Judah would probably beat Hatton at 140

Remember Hatton also avoided Mayweather, Witter, Judah, Harris, Mitchell, Corley at 140 so hes only fought the best in the division once.

As for the fight its a tough hard call. Roger Mayweather had the skill and speed to give Hatton a world of problems. Roger isn't as good as Floyd but hes probably better than Collazo who probably beat Hatton too. Roger had the jab and power to bother Hatton. Hatton has underrated speed and great stamina and strength to make this very close. I think a close decision either way unless Roger gets ko'd

Mayweather would cause Hatton problems and if HAtton were to be cut he could be in real trouble. But remember The Black Mamba had a bit of the dog in him, and when the going got tough, Roger sometimes found a way to get out of there.

No matter what Mayweather would have to battle though tp beat Hatton, and history suggests he would probably not be up for it.

Hatton TKO11 in a gruelling fight.

Pryoe beats him guaranteed imo , I used to think Ricky was well on his way to contending for the number 1 spot for LWW ATG , not now though. Not because of Mayweather. Hatton is really annoying me by not fighting Witter , i dont wanna get into that though!!

Anyway , I think Hatton would beat Roger , but this is very hard. You saw Roger against Chavez and other 140 fights. Still i think Hatton though

    He fought Mayweather.
He was going to fight Harris until he got KNOCKED THE **** OUT by Maussa, so Hatton beat him instead.
Judah GOT KNOCKED THE **** OUT by Tszyu, so Hatton beat him instead.
    Mitchell??
There's no clamour for a Corley fight, he's not on Hatton's level.
    Witter fight will happen soon.

    Were talking pre-2005

    1. Hatton was Corleys mando for 2years - why not fight him?

    2. Hatton was Judahs WBO mando - Hatton didnt want the fight

    3. Hatton was Harris WBA mando - Hatton withdrew his mandatory status rather than make the fight

    4. Hatton beat Maussa who FLUKED a win against a Harris who was blowing in the first round. Maussa was beat by journeymen the next fight after Hatton NOT a good win

    5. Hatton beat a 35yo (nearl 36yo) Tyszu who was a 3round fighter with injurys. Impressive but why no prime fighters?

Britain has wanted Hatton-Witter for 8years. Hatton has ducked the fight for that long

Hatton will probably stop him in the final couple of rounds whilst being way down on points (I'd say 7-3 or 8-3).

Stamina was a big problem for Mayweather and I favour Hatton to grind it out with body shots and fight Mayweather to a stand still before disposing of him.

I think Hatton would handle Locche pretty easily. Very tough for Locche against guys like Hatton. I'd pick Armstrong, Pryor, Chavez and pretty much any other relentless great at or around 140lbs to beat him. Especially ones who have a sound body attack, like Hatton. His style just matches up badly.

Chavez would be a brawl, but probably too much for Hatton. Maybe there is a chance of Hatton having the great heart, making Chavez quit like he did against Tszyu.

Cervantes could be beaten by Hatton, I think. There isn't much to pick between the two though.

Pryor would probably have too much for Hatton. His offence would land too often on Ricky.

Whitaker and Benitez are too slick and fast. Like Mayweather, they'd make Hatton look poor.

There is a good chance that Roger's chin would betray him.
