    Everyone here is insane.

Today, Lastarza would simply cut to 168.

How does everyone see Lastarza Vs Froch, Ward, Groves, Abraham? I think he could win a couple there.

Or Lastarza Vs Adonis, Kov, B-Hop, Beterbiev?

Goes to show you how the outcome of one close fight can drastically change the outcome of a fighter's legacy. Here we have Lastarza a carefully managed fighter who just fell short against an all time great and he is viewed as an also ran. Then we have Riddick Bowe another carefully managed fighter who won his match over an all time great fighter where he possessed every physical advantage one could have and he makes a lot of top 20 lists. Both fighters missed a staggering amount of ranked fighters during their day.

I'm refering to Povetkin's 6 fight run from 2008-2011. At that point, he had only beat Chambers and a faded Byrd, and under Atlas held down a top tier rating for 3 years by beating fringe contenders and journeyman in Estrada, Mora..etc. Basically sitting on the accomplishment of beating Chambers.

Obviously this is quite unfair on Lastarza as he would be fighting in the Cruiserweight division. Nevertheless, I think his only chances would be when he has a major stylistic or speed advantage. He'd probably be considered a runner in this day and age and might be able to spoil decision victories over someone like Solis or Arreola. It wouldn't be a foregone conclusion though

    Wouldn't even be a cruiserweight I think.

I believe we call that "staying busy" in the sport. Sometimes, guys just have to fight while those in control work on bigger things. It happens. And it really happens when you have a psychotic as a trainer.

Beats the hell out of Dempsey's 1923-26 campaign.

My point is that LaStraza did the same thing in the early 50s. And such a task wouldn't be out of his reach now.
