You need a dogfight mentality in sparring, it isn't always going to be purely technical. But that definitely got silly.
What the hell was he doing? You`re not suppossed to go all out in sparring it`s just practise, he was just throwing wild with no feints missing all over the place, where was his trainer?
What experience are you basing this on? Guys will go all-out (or close to it) at times in sparring and coaches will let it happen, because it's hard to stop two guys who are full of testosterone and itching for a hard, competitive spar. You need that on occasion.
They are suppossed to be practising their fundamentals, this is completely unproffesssional someone could have got hurt or cut any trainer allowing this is not a pro.
They're also learning how to fight, and you don't learn that by tickling each other and being cute. There's room for hard, somewhat dirty sparring, these guys just blew their cool is all.
Learning how to fight? How many pro fights have tyhese guys already had? this crap is not going to make this bum a better fighter.
I've been on record here saying Tank blitzes him here, because of Rolly's weird balance & questionable defense. But, dealing with Him in the ring is different. When we watch his fights from a birds eye view on tv, he looks super wild and weird sometimes but when your are fighting him live you see the weird steps, him pulling back, and then a blazing punch comes out of nowhere that's tough to see. He is very strong for the weight, looks to have a solid chin, and has blazing power. I'm going to say that this will be a fight. Tank can be hit coming in and it's not like he obliterated Gamboa who is not known for a strong chin and power. I would not be surprised if he dropped Tank, should be one of the most fun fights of the year. Can't blame Rolly for wanting to test him self against one of the best. If he pulls this out, I'll laugh my ass off.
Man, there are guys who made it to a string of world title defenses and looked lost when a guy was able to put the rough stuff on them and spoil their boxing. Tell me more about your hundreds and thousands of rounds of experience.
